Sonic's POV
We just finished defeating Eggman for the billionth time, and now treating ourselves to a live play in the village. It was about 6:30 PM, and I felt so relaxed, which is the greatest feeling in the world. Tails, Knuckles, and I were eating popcorn, Amy brought her own dessert for the play, since she didn't want to eat "fake food", and Sticks was also eating Amy's raspberry shortcake. Dave the intern was the star of the play, acting as "Super Hawk", the hero whom defeats the evil villain "Marvil". The play was actually pretty good, which is funny because Amy had to convince me to watch it since I thought it would be boring. Glad she persuaded me. I took a second to think about our team as a whole, and really appreciated it. Tails, my best pal, who was very smart and was pretty much my little bro. Knuckles, who's a goofball, but is powerful and pretty funny. Sticks, who's always paranoid yet is very helpful in our missions. And finally Amy, who is always caring for us, and also beautiful...Wait a second did I really think of her like that? I mean, it's not that she isn't pretty, but...I only see Amy as a friend, right? I turned to stare at Amy sitting next to me, her eyes glowing from the lights on the stage, while finishing up her shortcake. Quickly, she noticed me looking at her. "Sonic, are you enjoying the movie?" She asked with a smile. "Oh yeah, this is way better than I thought, hehe." I replied. She gave me the 'I told ya so' face, and continued watching. I don't know what it is, but my feelings towards her have definitely changed over the past few years. I used to always run away from Amy because she was so crazy about me. I never really thought about how I felt about her at the time, though. Back then I was younger, and I just loved adventure, and making friends. I still do love adventure, but it's like I'm figuring out my feelings towards her way more than before. Do I really have a crush on her? No, Amy rose is only a close friend of mine... but there's something about her that always makes me feel a certain way. Anytime I saw any other guy flirt with her, I got super jealous. Such as when the stupid green 'radical speed' dude was flirting with her. Amy was just my girl. Not just a friend, maybe not my girlfriend, but she was definitely my girl. If that makes sense. I didn't want anyone taking her from me. You know what, I'm going to tell her how I feel. Maybe I do love Amy rose. How will she react? If this was the Amy from years ago, I would get a death hug, and she would arrange a wedding for us. But now, she's matured. What if she only sees us as friends? Oh gosh, that can't be. Amy has loved me for all those years..but she possibly could have grown out of her crush on me. All because I'm too late to tell her how I feel. Gah, I feel like an idiot. As I'm looking down at my seat, tails taps me, saying "Sonic, you okay?". "As always, bro!" I gave him a thumbs up, and he smiled. I took another look at Amy, and she looked more attractive the more I saw her. I can't believe I'm actually falling in love with Amy rose. I gotta tell her after the play.
8:30 PM
I was sitting in my hut, pacing back and forth would I could do to tell Amy. We've been on 'dates' before I guess you could say...so maybe I can ask her on another one. Wait no, something better. There's this hill area I love going to when on one of my running adventures. It has a forest behind it with many flowers, and the view on top of the hill was incredible. From on top you could see a river below, with lime green grass around it. This was it. This was the perfect place to tell her. Should I knock on her now and ask? Nah it's too late, I'll ask her in the morning. No i seriously can't wait until the morning. Gosh why am I so indecisive, I've never been like this before. I know, I'll just mail her a letter.
9:00 PM
After many failed attempts at the letter to write Amy, I finally got it down. I quickly ran to the post office to send it, and the beaver man said "Thank you, it should send no later than 12 hours". "Thanks", I replied then ran off home. I layed in my bed, and looked at one of our team photos that Amy took awhile ago. This one was of her and I on a picnic together. I looked at the picture, saying "you'll be mine soon, Amy rose." To myself.
The next day, 10:30 AM
Amy's pov
I woke up very late this morning, my quills were all messy and I had rings around my eyes. Yeah, I slept really well last night. For breakfast, I wanted to try making something new for myself, but as soon as I entered the kitchen, there was a knock at my door. This early? I looked out the window to see the mailman running away like an idiot. I opened the door, and picked up an envelope. It had kinda bad handwriting, but it was still readable. I opened it up, and my couldn't believe my eyes.
Dear Amy Rose,
Hey Amy, it's me sonic. I hope you're not busy at 5:00 PM today because there's something I wanted to show you. Just lettin you know, haha
Was sonic asking me out on a date? What did he want to show me? I squealed as I used to always did when I was younger. I still had a crush on sonic the hedgehog, after all these years, but I felt as if before I annoyed him about it. So now, I like to give him space, and be more mature. I think he likes me more this way anyways. It kinda worked, because there's been moments and hints that sonic could've maybe had something for me. I wasn't too sure though. I guess we'll see what happens later today.
4:30 PM
Sonics pov
I began to shower and get clean and everything for Amy. I needed this to be special for us. After minutes of me brushing my quills, putting on cologne, eating mints, washing my face, and practicing talking to myself in the mirror, it was finally 5. I wanted to pick her a flower before getting to her though, so I went to the forest and found one that resembled her well. A pink and red rose. Afterwards I went to Amy's house, and saw her waiting outside of her house. Man she looked amazing. Well, here goes nothing, I thought. I walked up to her, saying "Yo Ames, you ready?". She gave me a smirk, replying"I've been ready for 10 minutes, Sonic." I blushed and told her to follow me. I grabbed her hand as we ran together to the place I wanted to go. "Hold on sonic, where are we going?" She asked while panting. I turned and gave her a smile, saying "Just wait and see." At this I saw her cheeks turn red, which was cute. "Here we are" I said, as we walked to the hill through the forest. "Oh my gosh sonic, this is beautiful. How did you find this place?" Amy asked, as I walked up to her with the rose I found earlier. "Oh, just on one of my adventures, hehe. Take this Amy, it's for you." I said, while we both blushed. We both sat on top of the hill, and talked for awhile. We had a really good conversation, too. "Hey Ames, can I tell you something?" I asked, looking her in the eyes. "Of course you can, sonic." She smiled softly. I slowly grabbed her hands, saying "Lately Amy I've been thinking about you...well that's sounds creepy, but I mean for some reason I've been having strange feelings toward you. You've always been caring of me, and made sure I don't do anything stupid or reckless. Even through the hardest of missions, you've encouraged me, and gave our team hope. You've taken care of our team when one of us our injured." "Soni-" "But that's not all, I don't know why it took me so long to say this, but...you're beautiful Amy rose. I'm in love with you." I looked deeply in Amy's jade green eyes, and she was tearing up. "Sonic, you don't know how long I've been waiting for you to tell me this." I smiled, and put my hand under her chin. Slowly we got closer, and eventually it led to a kiss. I was kissing Amy rose. This is crazy. After the kiss, we hugged and laughed together. "Can you be my girlfriend, amy?" I asked while holding her hand. "Of course I can Sonic."
