Parkers POV
I ran my fingers through my sweaty hair, as I walked up the drive way to the house. Normally practice wouldn't drain me this bad, but today was different. My phone buzzed as I reached the door. I sighed and noticed Emmett was calling me. We just saw each other not even twenty minutes ago.
"Miss me already?" I chuckle, while putting the key in the door and twisting it.
"Totally, because you know how devastated I was when I learned I was getting the apartment to myself." He replied sarcastically.
"I'm not judging bro. You know you want me."
As I walked inside, I heard the sound of music blasting through the house. I rolled my eyes, and walked towards the kitchen. I zoned Emmett out, as I realized what had happened in here. To the right of me, my younger brother was holding a pizza pan in front of his body like a shield, and a pasta pot on his head. To my left, Emily was standing on the counter with the water sprayer from the sink in her hands. They were yelling at each other, and had obviously not heard me walk in.
"I'm gonna have to call you back man. Your sister..." I trailed off unable to explain the sight I was viewing.
"Water hose?" He asked.
"Yup." I said before hanging up.
"You can't make me do anything!" Lee shouted at Emily.
She placed her hand on her hip and glared at him. "All I did was ask you to grab me the Parmesan cheese from the garage." She defended.
"Yeah, the garage. Where you and Parker sneak off during movie night, to get 'Pop corn'" He said adding the quote pop corn. In my defense we did always bring him some pop corn when we came back.
Emilys' cheeks flared up, and she jumped off the counter and took a mad dash for Lee. I decided to step in and caught her by her waist. "Whoa there Princess." I said as she tried to wiggle out of my grasp. She stopped when she heard me talk and leaned against me. "What's going on?" I asked sternly, while I turned the music off.
"Emily wants me to go in the garage where you two always make out. It's infested with you two. This whole house is." He shuttered. I rolled my eyes and nodded for him to go get it. He mimicked my actions, and left.
Emily turned around and looked at me. "Hey." She smiled as she wrapped her arms around me.
"Hey." I sighed. I rested my chin on her head, and I felt her sigh in content. "I have good news." I said breaking the silence. She looked up through her long eyelashes and brightened up.
"They choose you didn't they?" She squealed. Emily began jumping up and down, and I felt like I was watching a kid on Christmas morning, knowing they got their sick remote control airplane.
"Not just me." I said. Her jaw dropped to the floor, and she stood frozen. I waved my hand in front of her face but she wouldn't blink. "Want me to call Emmett for a celebration?" I laughed. She nodded and I went to the counter to grab my phone. Explaining the details to Emmett, I heard Emily just tell Michelle to get her ass over here and hang up.
Within twenty or so minutes, our house was packed with our closet friends, and family. Emily and Emmett still hadn't made up with their parents, so it was mainly friends, and Lee. We had partied for a while, before I hunted Emily down Who was talking to Lee, and dragged her to the fire place I jumped on it and she stood in front of it. I nodded to Emmett and he turned the music off. People began to get get upset, and confused. I made noise until all eyes were on me. Once they were I smirked. Game on.
"Well, first. Thanks for coming and celebrating Emmett and I's victory. It is truly an honor to be scouted to play for the U.S mens' Olympic soccer team." The crowd busted out in applause. I quieted everyone down, and pushed the selves to my jacket up. Everyone was dressed formal yet causal. I had settled for a button up shirt, jeans, and a nice suit jacket. I looked down at Emily who smiled intently at me. She was wearing a short blue dress that flowed out at the bottom before her knees. Her hair was curled, and not one strand of hair was out of place. She looked perfect.
"One more thing, before we get back to the party." I said. Once again all eyes found their way to me. I held my hand out to Emily, and she took it, while joining me on the fire place. I turned and looked her in the eyes. "Emily, there's been something I 've been wanting to do, but never felt it was the right moment. " I paused not knowing how to word the rest of what I was going to say. "I've talked to Emmett and he's okay with his idea."
"You aren't leaving me for him are you?" She joked.
I rolled my eyes and smiled at her. "Emily. You've helped me get through so much, and you've been there for me no matter what we went through. You truly are my best friend, my princess." I stopped when I heard Emmett clear his throat. "Yes Emmett, you're my best friend too." I said, gaining a few laughs from the crowd. "To others, you're just another girl, but to me you are the world. Yes I know cheesy, and from a song. What I'm trying to say is." I paused to slid down to my knee.
Emily gasped and her hand flew up to her mouth. Tears began to fall from her eyes as I pulled a small black box from my coat pocket. "Emily Winston I love you with all my heart and soul. Will you do me the honor and marry me?" I opened the box, but she didn't look at it as she bent down and kissed me.
Everyone in the house applauded and I smiled at Emily as I put the ring on her finger. "I love you." She said as the music started back up and people began partying again.
"I love you too Princess." I said bringing her lips to mine again. Four years ago, I would've laughed in your face if you told me I would be engaged to Emily Winston, my best friends sister. Now, I couldn't picture my life without her. She's my qwirky, awkward, vinal loving, quiet, beautiful and amazing girl. I wouldn't want that any other way.
