"Midterms." Stiles whined half sleep. He heard a giggle and he slowly opened his eyes. Daylight was here. Stiles heard the noises of machines and he knew they made it, his friends found them.
"Stiles." He heard Kira's voice. Stiles turned her head and saw her sitting up and staring at him. "Hey." He smiled tiredly. "Thank you for saving my life. I wouldn't have made it without you." She said with a bow. "No problemo." He chuckled. "Why the hell am I laughing?"
"They put you on this drug so you wouldn't feel the pain." She said. "Then why aren't you on it?" He said sitting up. "I'm fine." She shrugged. Stiles huffed. "Where's my dad?"
"He was here when I woke up but he got called into work because they found Dans body." She sighed. "Oh, but your boyfriends here."
"Boyfriend?" Stiles questioned. "Oh so he's not?" She tilted her head. Derek entered the room, his eyes widened as he saw Stiles looking back at him and he nearly dropped his coffee.
"Are you okay?" Stiles asked him a little bit worried. Derek moved to sit on the chair beside Stiles bed. "I should be asking you that." He said meeting his eyes. "I'm fine."
"Are you still cold?"
"Just a little, but I'm okay." Stiles said. Kira slowly moved to close her curtain area. Derek got up and pulled a blanket out of the closet and put it on Stiles. Stiles sent him a smile. "Awh, the big bad wolf taking care of me." He cooed. Derek sighed and moved his fingers to Stiles hair line. "I'll always take care of you." He whispered. Stiles eyes widened and a dark red blush creeping on his face.
"What?"
"You heard me, I'll always take care of you, I always have, haven't I?" Derek blinked. "Yeah because that's what pack does right?" Derek smiled. "Exactly." Stiles rolled his eyes. "Derek Hale you're one confusing guy." Stiles said pulling the covers to his neck. He was suddenly feeling tired again. "But that's what I like about you." He added, blinking tiredly. Derek smiled small. "Get some rest Stiles."
"You'll be here right?"
"Of course." Stiles closed his eyes and hummed. "Tell Scott to bring me some curly fries.." He trailed off, falling to sleep. Derek kissed Stiles forehead before sitting down and holding his hand.
"It's none of my business." Kira said pulling the curtain back. "But if you like him, you seriously need to tell him." Derek sent her a glare. "Right." Kira smiled, closing her curtain slowly again.
------------
The next time Stiles woke up he smelt curly fries. "Am I in heaven?" He asked jokingly before opening his eyes. "Yeah right kiddo, you aren't leaving me anytime soon." Sheriff said.
"Love you pops." Stiles said putting a fist in the air. Scott walked over to the bed and draped himself over Stiles legs.
"Scott, what are you doing?" Lydia asked.
"It's how he shows affection towards me. He lays on my feet like a puppy." Stiles grinned. "Speaking of puppies, where's my beta baby?" Stiles said looking around. "We made him be the one to stay in the hall with Derek. Only four people per visit." Lydia said wiggling her four fingers. Stiles scoffed. "I love you Allison and Lydia but I want to see my boys." Stiles said sitting up. Lydia rolled her eyes.
"This isn't over." Allison said as they left.
"You feeling alright?" Sheriff asked. "Had us all worried. Especially me, who felt terrible for making you go buy pizza." Stiles frowned. "Dad it was fine, we're okay, I'm okay." Sheriff ruffled Stiles hair. Stiles smiled.
Isaac and Derek suddenly walked into the room and Isaac beamed at Stiles. Stiles patted his bed and Isaac was soon on it, crossing his feet and staring at Stiles.
"It's uncomfortable how mommy like you are to him." Sheriff stated. "Don't be jealous dad." Stiles said. "Where's Kira?"
"She went home." Derek stated. "Sadly I have to bring you two into the office after school to talk about what happened. Now, we get you home." Sheriff said. Stiles fist bumped the air. "Everyone go home, it's a school night." Sheriff said waving them off. "See you tomorrow Stiles." Scott said sliding off the bed. Isaac waved and left with them.
Derek got up and Stiles watch him leave. "See you later Stiles." Derek winked. Stiles forgot how to breathe until Derek was gone.
------------
He got out of the shower, he put on his warmest clothes and went down stairs. His dad was on the phone, talking quietly.
"Well someone tried to hurt my son, I'm not sleeping until I find the son of a bitch." Sheriff said. Stiles sighed. Slowly moving back upstairs to his room. He closed the door and nearly screamed when he saw Derek leaning against the wall. "I will never get used to that." He said putting a hand over his heart and tried to calm down his breathing. Derek shook his head and looked at Stiles messy bed. Stiles sighed and went to clean his bed. "Research and studying." He explained picking up the papers. "You need a break." Derek stated, watching him. "I can't now, now it's a must thing to know because I wasn't sacrificed and I'm slightly offended." Stiles said moving his papers to his desk.
"I will never understand how your mind works." Derek said. Stiles sent him a look. He moved back to his bed and picked up the remaining papers. "I really hope no one in school knows about this, I really hate sympathetic looks." Stiles mumbled. Derek moved to Stiles door and locked it. "It'll be over before it even starts." Derek commented. Stiles fidgeted with his hands. "Yeah I hope so." He said. "Are you staying? I really don't want to be alone right now." Stiles said looking up at Derek. "Yeah, I'll stay." Derek said turning off the lights and shrugging his jacket off. Stiles gave him a weak smile and slid in his bed. He heard Derek fumble with his jeans before sliding into bed afterwards. Derek wrapped an arm around Stiles and laid his head between his shoulder. Stiles relaxed and was asleep in an instant.
