Two Princesses, a Prince, and a Troll

PROLOGUE
MYSTICAL MEAGHAN walks on stage
KAIA and ALETTA are frozen in character, in position until narrator is done speaking

MYSTICAL MEAGHAN: Ahem. Welcome. If you don't know me yet, you must get to know me better. I'm Mystical Meaghan, the greatest sorceress ever!  Here is my assortment of trinkets and trunkets, Potions, spell books ... I have it all. Including (reaches under the blanket and produces a round ball) this magical ball. This magical ball can show any story possible. I have one story to tell you all, only if you want to hear it of course. Well do you? (audience is like yaaaa) A long time ago in a faraway land, there were two smart, beautiful and strong princesses that came to stand. (princesses come on stage) They were locked in a tower, and waiting for their prince, they almost lost their confidence and power... (exit)
End of Scene

SCENE ONE: THE TOWER
A tower, full of antiques, looks like a bedroom. There's a table in the center with a teapot and teacups on top. PRINCESS ALETTA is sitting down, sipping on tea while PRINCESS KAIA is knitting something.

ALETTA: (drinking tea, excited) I just can't wait for our prince to come!
KAIA: (looks at ALETTA) Neither can I! (pause) I wonder just when he'll come.
ALETTA: He can't be far from the tower now. He probably  just taking his time, that's all.
KAIA: But Aletta! We've been waiting here for so long! I think that if our prince was coming, he would be here by now.
ALETTA: Come on, Kaia! Choose positivity. Our prince is coming.  He'll be here and then we'll be able to escape this tower once and for all!
KAIA: But why do we need a prince to get out of this tower?
ALETTA: Don't be silly! We're just princesses and he's a prince. I know he's coming. I can feel it.
(ALETTA laughs at KAIA'S mistake, and KAIA is confused, but laughs anyways)
ALETTA: More tea?
KAIA: No thanks.  (beat) Don't you find it silly that we always try to look our best, when we're locked in a tower, just for some prince?
ALETTA: No. Why do you ask?
KAIA: Just because we don't know when he is coming, do we?
ALETTA: I suppose not. But that's the joy of everyday, in my opinion, because it's always curiosity that guides us through the day. Plus, don't you want to get out of this tower? We need to have some hope.
MYSTICAL MEAGHAN:  As the princesses wait, I will take you to the scene of the prince. He has long left the castle, and no one has seen him since. When a loveable troll comes along his path, the story of friendship and guidance will leave him aghast.
End of Scene

SCENE TWO: THE FOREST SPOT
The scenery changes to a forest. Trees are spread out along with other props to show it's a forest.

MYSTICAL MEAGHAN: The handsome young prince named Friederick...
FRIEDERICK: (from off stage) Actually it's Frie-Derick.
MYSTICAL MEAGHAN: Right. Prince Frie-Derick was sent off to save the princesses in the tower.
PRINCE FRIEDERICK comes on stage.
FRIEDERICK: Gosh, this forest is dirty. The only good looking thing here is me. (looks in mirror, possibly in the back of his cape) Don't I look gorgeous? I'm tired already. I should probably rest before saving the princesses. (FRIEDERICK sits down)
MYSTICAL MEAGHAN: While the prince was resting, a curious troll was protesting. The prince sat in his favorite spot, so the troll went towards him and thought:
TROLL walks onstage. He sees the prince. MYSTICAL MEAGHAN exits.
TROLL: Hey! This is my spot! I sit here everyday. What makes you think you can take my spot?
FRIEDERICK: Don't talk to me like that, I'm a prince. I'm saving two princesses soon, and I need my beauty sleep.
TROLL: Oooo. You're saving two princesses! Can I help?
FRIEDERICK: Why would I let you help me?
TROLL: Because I could be handy, after all I know all the shortcuts in this forest. I could help you get to the princesses faster.
FRIEDERICK: I might let you join me. Now tell me, do you think I'm gorgeous? Amazing?
TROLL: Yes, sir?
FRIEDERICK: Are you willing to let me save both of them and pretend that I did it all myself?
TROLL: Alright, only if you promise to let me sit in my spot alone once you're gone for good!
FRIEDERICK: That's a deal! Now which direction is the tower?
TROLL: I thought you knew. Why would you come out here if you didn't know?
FRIEDERICK: (embarrassed) I was just going to poke around for it. I don't have to hurry, it's not like the princesses can get out without me. (Ego) I am the greatest, anybody would want my help.
TROLL: Okay. (puts hand out) I'm Troll.
FRIEDERICK: Well that's a terrible name... I'm Prince Frie-Derick! (They shake hands then rub their hands in disgust) So it's settled, you'll find me the tower and I'll save the day!... right after I take a nap. (FRIEDERICK lies down. TROLL rolls eyes)
