Brave New World

I ran from my dad. Am I ashamed? A little. But I know it will do him good as it will do for me. I need to see the world. My brave new world.
What impelled me to flee? I'm afraid to say that this is a story for another time. Strictly between him and I, shall we say? Now the world is my garden with me being the bee. Makes me quite miniscule in the grand scheme of things.
Money should not be something of concern, at least not for a while. Also, I'm two villages away which is not too bad, not to the extent that it's only a half hour drive away from home. Maybe I'm being accompanied by avarice if I ask for this hut I'm eyeballing, just to stay in for a week. Then I can continue my refuge in being further away. That hut is lovely and airtight, insulation for heat being standard. It is wooden with stone trimmings which makes it look as though it belongs in the Alps or something. The windows are fire lit when dinner is brewing or merely just for heating. Fire is therapy in its own way, isn't it? It never stays the same, in form and dance.
A kindred women, free from gravity and with a soul light as air itself, saw me at her garden gate. Kindly calling out, she invited me into the house and where imagination came alive in infectious reality. Warmth enveloped me thawing out the cold from my bones.
"Where are you headed, young man?" The kindred lady asked.
"Just through the country. I'm looking for work." I reply, sat before the fire rubbing my hands together. The lady pours out a cup of coffee for me and tells me of a farmer in the village next to this one, looking for a worker to care for his vineyard.
"Sounds nice. Thank you. Maybe I'll have some free food!" Jokingly, I giggle and so does she.
I only hope I make it. That I will be able to eat and remain dry from the storms.
Wind rattles the wooden shutters and whistles through the whirling leaves. The night time sky seems to have become darker, ensuring no lovers beneath it.
