Chapter 1

"Briar it looks like that family moved into the house besides us!" My mom yelled to me.
"I don't care mom." I replied
"There seems to be two boys your age."
"Stop stalking them!" I can't believe my mom, she just sits in our sunroom and people watches. If she didn't have to work I don't think she'd ever leave that room. I looked out my window which leads to the neighbors house. I seen a boy walk in and open his transparent blinds. I ducked my head when we accidentally made eye contact. I sat on my widow couch and blushed. That was awkward. I looked back out my widow to catch a glance of him. He was already unpacking, he looked up and wave. Crap. I waved back shyly, after I jumped onto my bed and took out a book to read till diner was ready.

Today was the first day back to school after our summer break. Of course I wasn't looking forward to it. I curled my long brown hair and did my make up very simple. My mom always told me that make up is to bring out your natural beauty so girls don't need to wear a lot of it. My two best friends Abby and Jordan we're coming to my house to eat breakfast. My mom always tried to make a good breakfast for the first day of school for my friends and I. It was usually bacon eggs and toast with a bowl of yogurt. I grabbed my pink velvet scrunchie off my dresser and I looked back out my window hopping the boy would be standing there, but the room was empty.
"Briar your friends are here." My mom yelled for me. I ran down my spiral stairs and jumped off the last step.
"Did you see your neighbors!" Abby smiled "they're hot" jordan finished the sentence. I blushed and nodded in agreement.
We al sat down and ate our food. All that was on my mind was him waving at me. All that was on my mind was the mystery boy who lived next door.
"Briar" abby said waking me from my day dream "what are you thinking about?"
"Just today" I lied.
After breakfast we all got into jordan's keep and drove to school. I was excited to show off my outfit I thought I looked rather cute. Okay well it's a little plane but it's cute, it's a white shirt which makes my summer tan pop. During the summer my mom and I went on a cruise with my aunt and cousins, so most of my days were spent outside in the beating hot sun. I had a pair of light washed ripped jeans on too. We made to to school and went to our lockers, Abby's first then jordan's then mine. It's always been like that and always in that order. Out school wasn't too big there was about a couple hundred kids per grade. I was getting my books and binder from my locker, I closed the door and almost fainted. The boy... the boy... he was right there. Right at the locker besides mine. He looked at me and I blushed a little. He was so handsome he's light brown hair messy but still perfect. His deep green eyes looked right into mine. My heart melted.
"Briar" jordan smiles "wake up" I turned and blushed. I shook my head and closed my locker and we left.
"Was it that bad" I said shaking my head.
"Well you stood there for a solid minute just watching him." Abby laughed.
"I'm so embarrassing" I said rolling my eyes.

I walked into my first class which was math I was always good at math so I was excited to start my year off with this class. I walked in and sat in an empty 2 person desk. I wouldn't mind sitting alone it's easier to think. I looked down at my phone to see 2 messages from my mom saying to have a good day and she loves me. I have a amazing relationship with my mom since my dad left us. I looked up and seen a boy that looked similar to the neighbour just a bit younger he sat down next to me and smiled.
"I'm Lucas" he smiled
"Briar." I slightly smirked "actually I think you just moved in next door to me."
"Maybe I did just move here with my brother and dad." He smirked.
I nodded and listen to the teacher. Every now and then I'd glance over at Lucas and catch him already looking at me. I couldn't help but smile the whole class. He was so handsome he had the same colour hair as his brother, but his eyes were a light icy blue.

After school I went straight to my room. Later that night Abby Jordan and I were going to go shopping for a kid in our grades party. It wasn't till Friday and it was Tuesday but never to late to be prepared. I loved having a day off on Monday, we usually start school after the summer on a Monday but the school was getting renovated and needed an extra day to clean. I peeked my head off my bed to look through my window into the boys next door. I seen him standing on his phone, it looked like he was talking to someone. Probably a girl he was so hot to be single. Ugh Briar stop. He's jaw line topped off all his features. I laid back in my bed. I looked down at my phone and I had a text message from a number I didn't recognize. I read it I had no idea who the person was but they asked for the math homework. I asked who the person was and they said it was Lucas from math class. I smiled I can't believe he's texting me, And how did he even get my number. I gave him the Page number and questions. I dont know how He got his work done we talked the whole time till abby and jordan we're coming to pick me up. He seemed so sweet and he's definitely cute. I so hope I get to know him more.
