Chapter Two

CHAPTER TWO
She Doesn't Remember

Jungkook POV

I can't believe my eyes, is that really her? She's become so beautiful. 

"Sowon?" I said in a low tone

"Eh?" 

"What do you mean by 'eh'?" I said, and she looked at me, confused. 

What's with that reaction? And what's with that look? 

Is like she doesn't remember me. Wait, is she?

We both like staring at each other in silence, and I clearly see her confused with a conflicted expression. 

"Ahem"

I heard Mrs Choi coughing and break our silence. She looks at me and smiles mischievously. God, I hate when she does that. There are only 2 things that smile means: one, she knew something about Sowon, and two, she really loves to tease me, her son. 

"Okay, Jungkook, you can go sit in your seat," she said, raising her eyebrows with a mischievous smile still plastered on her face. "Oh, and don't forget your detention after school", she adds as I ignore her and go straight to my seat.

But before that, I took a glance once again at her. She still shows a confused look as if looking at the floor.

"Ok, Miss Sowon, you can have that empty seat," said 

For the entire class hour, I can't stop looking at her. I'm happy to meet her again, but I'm confused that she doesn't remember me.

Yes, maybe we didn't meet each other like what, 3 - 4 years? But that doesn't mean she's forgotten me, right? I mean, I'm not changing that much.

"Yah, Jungkook-ah. Stop staring at her," my seatmate, a.k.a my best friend, Jimin, elbowing me.

"Huh? I'm not staring," I said, looking back at my note

"Oh, really?" He said a bit teasingly, "Your eyes clearly show you staring at her like you want to eat her or something", he adds

"What the-... Don't be ridiculous, Jimin!" I denied it a bit, which made everyone in the class look at me, including Sowon.

"Mr Jeon, if you have any questions, you can raise your hand," said the teacher, and I cursed at Jimin, who chuckled nonstop.

After the class ended, lunchtime. I see her walking outside the classroom, and I can't keep my eyes away from her. My body moves on its own and follows her. 

"Yah, where are you going?" Ask Jimin

"Lunch", I answer without looking at him and walking towards where Sowon goes. I can feel Jimin smirk at me even without looking at him. I don't care. He can mock me anytime. I just want to know why Sowon doesn't remember me at all. 

I keep following her but at an unsuspicious distance. I know the way I do it's like a stalker, don't get me wrong, I never did this before, ever. I am just curious about what happened to her over the past few years. I can just ask my mother about it rather than being this stalker-like behaviour, but I don't want to. If I ask my mother, I bet she'll tease me first. Urgh, that woman is really something when it comes to teasing his son to the fullest. 

Seriously, what happens to Sowon? She pretended like she didn't know me, as if we had never met before. I'm his childhood friend. We used to be close to each other. 

Sowon then turns to the corner, and I follow her so as not to lose her, but when I turn to that corner, I am surprised to see Sowon standing there, facing me with furrowed brows and a suspicious look. 

Shit.

"What's your problem?" she asks with an annoyed tone 

Shit, I don't have any excuse.

She pouts.

Cute.

"Uhm..."

"Why are you following me?" she asks again

Shit. Did she realise I'm following her? 

"Wha-...following you?" I answered a bit nervously. Wait, why am I behaving like a girl meeting his crush? 

I try to calm down and regain my cool. 

"Who's following you?! Don't be so big-headed!" I said pretentiously and coldly. "Is not just you who wants to go this way, now get off, you're on my way" 

Now she looks at me with shock and a sad expression. Shit, now I'm being a jerk.

She moves away, and I just walk past her without even apologising. Damn it, Jeon Jungkook. Why do you have to say something like that? Me and my damn mouth.

"I don't understand!"

Suddenly, she shouted at me, and I turned to look at her. She showed a hurt and confused expression.

"Why...why you..." she said, stammering, "You said my name earlier as you know me, honestly, I don't remember you at all, but your face keeps appearing inside my dream...." she continues clenching her hands, "Who...who exactly are you?!" she said, looking at me angrily yet sad at the same time.

I frowned. I bite my lower lip. 

I should be the one who asks her why she doesn't remember me.

"I...I'm the one who should ask you!" I said in a slightly higher tone, and I could see she jumped in surprise.

"How come you forget about me?! Are you forgetting our promise too?!" I said again, this time in an irritated tone. I don't know why I'm so frustrated about this and why I released it to her like this. 

"Promise?"

Her expression looked confused, and that irritated me. Did she forget our promise? 

"Jungkook?"

Suddenly, I heard a voice behind me, and I saw Jin Hyung walking toward me.

"I'm sorry"

I heard Sowon murmuring in low town, and I could feel she was feeling sad. When Jin Hyung began to approach us closely, Sowon walked away from me, running a bit. 

Shit.

"Did I interfere with something?" Jin Hyung said, looking at me with an apologetic look

"Nothing, Hyung"

"Nothing...."

Sorry for the wait. 

Now, what'll happen between Jungkook and Sowon from now on, since now Jungkook's (it's been a while) impression of Sowon is bad. Are they going to be okay? Is Sowon going to remember Jungkook? And what Promise did Jungkook and Sowon make before?
