Her dirty blonde hair was tied up in a mint green scrunchie. Pieces of hair were falling out of place, perfectly framing her face. An array of freckles dotted her pale cheeks and the bridge of her nose. Her blue eyes had gray speckles in them. She makes me feel as if I'm not in California anymore.
She isn't the sterotypical platinum- blonde, tan, long legged, skinny, cliche girl I would've thought of. She had a nice and attractive figure and could hold her own. Some part of me feels like she's been through hell and back but still has a smile. I then realize I just made eye contact for too long for her comfort. I focus my gaze at the bright red stop sign instead. I hear her laugh. A soft sort of chuckling more like it. As curious as I am too see what she's laughing at, I don't want to be rude and stare- again. Plus she's probably laughing at my idiot self staring and drooling like a puppy dog.
It's my first day of school and I've already embarrassed myself for looking at a pretty girl before even walking in the doors. Great! The yellow bus pulls up to my stop. I go up the stairs, my Vans thudding against the hard steps. I'm not stupid enough to sit in the back, I don't want too seem cooler than I am. But if I sit in the front, everyone sees me as soon as they get on. So I opt for the middle seats.
I guess the girl from the stop thought the same thing, because as soon as I sit down, she sits in the seat right behind me. I don't know why I overthought the buss ride. Nothing bad is happening, there's no weird looks or glares so there's that. I get into a comfortable position on the bus (which is harder then you'd think), put in a pair of headphones, and turn up my volume on my iphone6.
