Hawaii Pt. 3

Y/N sat in the sand and watched the girls with a frown. They arrived about two hours ago and were... not doing so well. Dinah and Normani partly just fought because of what the other did and when someone actually did something right, they wouldn't tell the other, which led to another fight. Whenever Y/N walked over and tried to help, only Normani would really listen and ask stuff, Dinah completely avoided her. She left the place whenever Y/N stood up and tried not to look Y/N in the eyes. The surfer noted that and would later talk with the Polynesian. The girl was never shy or anything, especially not with her friends, so her behavior was beyond weird.

Lauren and Ally did not really better. They had to do dry practice and it looked kinda awkward. So after some time Y/N got up and joined the two girls. Maybe it would be easier for them to be in the water. 

"Um, girls? Do you maybe want to continue in the water?" Y/N awkwardly asked, Ally's eyes shot up and she grinned, asking if they were already that good. "Actually... no, but it could be easier for you, I guess. I'll be there to help you if something happens, alright?"

The girls nodded and grabbed their boards to use them in the ocean. Y/N instructed them again and told them the do's and don't's. And surprise, they were really better. Ally was living her best life and even when she fell down, the grinned like she has just won a million dollars. Lauren was a different story. She always got frustrated pretty fast and Y/N knew that. At one point Lauren just left the water and walked back to the beach, throwing angrily the board away. 

"Hey Ally, try to be careful now and don't do anything too crazy, I'm going to check up on Lauren, yeah?" Y/N asked her short friend. Ally nodded and told her that she would just join Normani and Dinah for a while.

Y/N jogged over to Lauren, who was sitting in the sand and staring at the ground. "Lauren, you are doing great on your first day, I don't know why you are so angry. I mean, look at Ally, she's having the time other life."

"It's not about the stupid surf thing," Lauren muttered. "Not entirely at least."

After a long sigh, Y/N sat down next to her ex lover. "Then what about is this?"

The raven haired woman looked Y/N directly in the eyes and for the first time Y/N saw in how much pain the woman was. "Isn't it obvious?"

"Lauren..."

"No, Y/N. I get it, I know you are hurt and I know that I am the cause for that, but I'm trying my best. I'm trying," Lauren's voice cracked. "I love you, I love you so much and I fucked up, but don't tell me that you never fucked anything up. I was 19, heartbroken and missed you like crazy, I had to get my mind of you. Sure, it was a stupid way and I regret it so much, but please, give me another chance to make it right. Please."

Y/N stared at the woman, then looked at the sun which was slowly setting. "I can't Lauren... You hurt me way too much."

Lauren nodded, tears flowing down her cheeks. "Alright, then I leave you alone."

She got up and told the girls to leave. They all looked over to Y/N and then back to Lauren. Suddenly Dinah stormed over to her. Y/N's eyes widened, knowing what was about to happen. 

"Y/FN!" She shouted.

"Dinah no!" Lauren called after her, but was too late.

"What the heck is wrong with you? Sure, she hurt you and yes, it was so unbelievably stupid but come on! It's been 10 fucking years! Lauren is doing all those things, like flying out to Hawaii, trying to find you, doing this stupid surf thing and you still act like a baby? Grow the fuck up and finally live in the present not in the past, god damnit!"

"Dinah Jane, no swearing!" Ally shouted and Y/N had to suppress a chuckle.

Before she could respond to Dinah's rant, the girl turned around and left with the girls, leaving Y/N alone at the beach. She got up and cleaned everything up, put away the boards and Normani's and Dinah's attempts. Just when she was finished, it hit her. Dinah was right, she should really stop living in the past and should move on. Lauren was trying and doing her best, she seemed so sincere and honest. As quickly as she could she grabbed the keys to her old pick-up truck and speed towards the hotel Ally told her about.

When she walked into the hotel, the receptionist recognized her and waved her over. "Oh Miss Y/L! How are you?"

"Hello Oliver, it's alright. Could you do me a favor?" Y/N asked, out of breath, feeling the adrenaline in her veins.

"Of course! How can I help you?" Oliver asked, smiling brightly at her, but when Y/N told him about the favor he frowned. "I'm sorry, Miss Y/L, I can't do that."

"Oh come on Oliver, she's a customer and she forgot her phone. I won't tell anyone," Y/N said and sent him her most charming smile. Eventually Oliver broke down and told her the room number of Lauren. 

Y/N sped up and took the stairs to reach the room faster. She knocked on the door like she was crazy and bounced her leg, feeling nervous as hell. The door opened and revealed a very surprised Lauren.

"I love you too. Very much actually. I'm just a coward and scared what could happen and and idiot because I wouldn't allow you to show me who you are now and what happened back then. I am sorry, I am very very sorry and I love you."

"I, what?" Lauren asked, perplexed, not really knowing what was happening.

Then Dinah's voice was heard. "She's telling you that she loves you, you dumbass!"

"It's time for you to say it back Lolo!" Normani called after her.

"A kiss would be nice too!" Ally finished.

"You mean that? You really love me?" Lauren asked, not believing what she heard.

Y/N nodded and smiled slightly. "I never stopped and I never will."

And after an eternity their lips touched and both of them felt like they would burst because of the happiness they felt. Y/N could feel Lauren's tears on her face and pulled away. Lauren just waved her hand, signaling that these were happy tears and hugged Y/N tightly. The girls cheered and hugged them as well.

"Group hug!" Normani said and everybody had laugh at that. 

When everyone settled down and Lauren cuddled into her beloved Y/N, they started to talk about what was about to happen.

"So, what are you two going to do?" Dinah asked and munched on some popcorn. 

Lauren and Y/N stared at each other. "Um, I don't know. I mean, I have my shop here and well..." Y/N said and awaited Lauren's reaction. She nodded.

"We have to talk about that some other time, right now we're just happy to be back together."

All of them spent another week together and one night Lauren and Y/N had a long talk about their current situation. The girls waited outside anxiously, hoping their power couple wouldn't break things off again. When Y/N opened the door and Lauren walked out, they held their breaths. What were the two woman up to?

"Wow you wait like Santa is about to pop up," Y/N joked, the girls laugh nervously.

"Oh my god, just tell us, what did you decide?" Ally exploded and Y/N laughed again, she looked at Lauren.

"Y/N is coming back to Miami with me and opening another surf shop there, I'm going to work a bit less, so we have more time to start this whole thing and so I can help her out at the beginning," Lauren explained and smiled lovingly at the other woman. Y/N kissed her cheek.

She sighed. "Yeah it's hard to close the shop, but the guy who works with me there is going to take it over and I'm coming here every once in a while. Also, I get Lauren in exchange for it, I think I definitely won."

Dinah squealed. "So we are all going back to Miami?"

"Yup," Y/N answered.
