Chapter One

CASSIE
   "You are joking right" I asked my friend Pearl while munching on a sandwich. It was lunch in school and Pearl had just given me the best news ever. She made my day by telling me that my biggest crush ever had asked for my number. Don't be judgemental, girls will be girls. I was so excited considering I had been crushing on Dave for the past five years. I was a nerd as people described me. I wore baggy clothes, made my hair plain, wore no makeup and wore glasses not because I needed them but I wanted to complete the nerdy description while my best friend on the other hand was my opposite but you know what they say opposites attract. I loved her to the moon and back, while I was calm and reserved, she was wild and loud. I prefer to stay at home and read, Mia prefer to go out to parties, I prefer to admire a guy from a distance, Mia had the courage to approach any guy. We were just so different.
    "Am serious girlie. The one and only Dave is asking for your number maybe next he will ask you to be his girlfriend." She said grinning.
   "You know you are crazy right. Am the school biggest nerd, have you forgotten? Besides Kara is crazy about Dave. She will never let him date." I told her. Kara was Dream high school certified bitch. She had all the qualities of a bitch and looked like one. She was practically obsessed with Dave and couldn't stand any girl being near him.
   "It doesn't matter Cass--" The bell rang cutting her short. We both had English next. I hurriedly left the cafeteria with Mia following me. We were halfway to the class when Dave abruptly stopped us
  "Hey girl. Can i talk to you." He pointed at me, did he just call me a girl. It made me raise my eyebrows in disgust. Mia smiled at us and left us walking down the halls. We both walked to the janitor's room. He locked the door making me question his intentions.
    "I don't have much time. Spread your legs." He told me chuckling. What the fuck. I felt my anger level rising.
    "Are you crazy." I replied connecting my palm with his face while he held the spot I had just slapped. He was probably shocked.
     "Am sorry Cassie. I was just joking."
     "Well next time, try to make a funny joke." I unlocked the door and walked out. I could hear him calling my name, he ran after me and spun me around making me look directly at his eyes. I held my breath, his eyes were so pretty. Dear God, did i just say his eyes were pretty.
    "Am sorry Cassie." His eyes held remorse.
    "It's fine."
    "Uhm... I really didn't mean it. I just get nervous around a really pretty girl. Yay, he called me pretty. I coughed and tried to keep a straight face but I couldn't help smiling.
    "Of course, I know am pretty." I said in a duh tone. He chuckled loudly and held my hands. I could feel the electric sparks.
      "Uhm.. I- Are you free on Saturday." He asked
  "Why do you want to know."  
"I wanted to grab lunch or coffee."
  "Well Dave, am free but i don't go out with boys just like that. You have to work for it."
  "What am I supposed to do."
  "I don't know dude. Just read some romance novels and become a Prince Charming."
     "Like Cinderella."
      "Yeah. And so we are clear, i don't do boyfriends or dates."
      "Okay Ma'am." I smiled and he pecked my cheek. I could feel heat rising to my face. We walked together to my class.
     I smiled to myself. Am so gonna rock this year!!!!
