Chapter Sixteen – Missing him
*Ava's POV*
Throughout the night, I didn't sleep. I listened to the music stored in my mp3 player. I replayed the song 'When You're Gone' by Avril Lavigne over and over again. I hummed the song silently as it was playing. Tears were falling down once again. My bed sheet was drenched by my tears.
I always needed time on my own
I never thought I'd need you there when I cry
And the days feel like years when I'm alone
And the bed where you lie is made up on your sideWhen you walk away I count the steps that you take
Do you see how much I need you right now? When you're gone
The pieces of my heart are missing you
When you're gone
The face I came to know is missing tooWhen you're gone
The words I need to hear to always get me through
The day and make it ok
I miss youI've never felt this way before
Everything that I do reminds me of you
And the clothes you left, they lie on the floor
And they smell just like you, I love the things that you doWhen you walk away I count the steps that you take
Do you see how much I need you right now? When you're gone
The pieces of my heart are missing you
And when you're gone
The face I came to know is missing tooAnd when you're gone
All the words I need to hear to always get me through
The day and make it ok
I miss youWe were made for each other
Out here forever
I know we were, yeahAnd all I ever wanted was for you to know
Everything I'd do, I'd give my heart and soul
I can hardly breathe I need to feel you here with me, yeahWhen you're gone
The pieces of my heart are missing you
And when you're gone
The face I came to know is missing tooAnd when you're gone
All the words I need to hear will always get me through
The day and make it ok
I miss you.

I stood in front of my desk and crossed out the days on the calendar. It had been 2 weeks since I left him. I grabbed my phone that was lying on the table.
'No New Messages.'
'No Missed Calls.'
I knew he was probably angry with me for leaving him. How possible that he would text or call me? But I was always waiting. Waiting for his text or call. I would carry with phone with me all day and ensure that it was fully charged. During the times when I missed him, I would open the photo gallery to view the one and only phone I had of him. And that would keep me going for the day.

I was sitting on the grass by the lakeside and hugging Chase's shirt close to my heart. His scent on his shirt was already fading out. His shirt was almost filled with my scent instead since I was holding it frequently. But it didn't matter. It was still his shirt. It was his only item that I had with me. It was as though that he was here with me.
