Two wolves trekked through the thick snow, the frozen flakes were clinging to their pelts. One was a female, and her belly was huge, the other was a male, he looked protective. The both of them made it to their destination, it was a large, dead tree that had an opening in the bottom. The area within the tree looked like it could at least fit one adult wolf and four pups. The male helped the female inside and sat outside, anxious. The snow started to kick up and so the male blocked the entrance of the tree trunk so that snow wouldn't blow into the shelter.
After an hour or so, the male could hear the sounds of high pitched yipping coming from the shelter. He looked inside and could see three small wolf pups curled up next to the females brown furred belly. His blue eyes widened, seeing the small pups.
"Come on, they don't bite. At least not yet, " The female said calmly.
The male stepped forward about a step and sniffed the small bodies of pure fluff. He could scent that two were male and one was female. The large male nuzzled the pups and drew back his head slowly, his white fur was speckled with snowflakes and didn't want to get any on the pups.
"You're going to be a great father, Jack." The female smiled.
"And you're going to be an amazing mother, Lily." Jack replied.
They nuzzled each other and Jack went back out of the shelter, keeping watch if anything was going to attack them."I'm a father!" Jack thought happily, "I'm going to be the greatest father ever!"
