Justin Rivers (P.O.V)

For as long as I could remember, Life was against me. Bullies often pick on me and I was covered with bad luck. I am not good with words and isn't reliable by the ways of sociability skills. That's why some people tend to avoid me, they find me boring and that brought a lot of attention to bullies.

"Hey, Jus!" A sudden voice came, which disturbed my thoughts. I was looking around trying to find where that voice came from. Then, I saw Jay Park running towards me. He was my friend during this years. He would also always invite me to his parties but I always decline them.

"Hey, Jake and I are going to a masquerade ball. Want to join us?" he asked. My eyes widened and immedietly shook my head.

NOPE! NOT IN A MILLION YEARS!

By seeing my reaction, Jay laughed at me. Jake Park is Jay's older brother

"No" I declined.

Jay's smiling face fell down, and rose his eyebrows. He looked at me with a questioning look.

I sighed. I don't really want to go to the ball but knowing Jake he would never accept an unreasonable answer.

Jake stared at me, waiting for my answer. I smiled at him. I pointed at the clothes I'm wearing. "I don't have those clothes Jake"

Jake grinned and pat my back assuringly. "Don't worry, I have some extra tuxedo. You can keep them after"

I rose my brows, unbelievable.

"I'll think about it" I answered, then he smiled widely. Then proceed talking to Jay.

Should I go to the ball or not? I'm not really great with parties. I would always be at the side, being a statue and ALSO my social skills are not that recommendable.

By not noticing the time, we already reached the entrance of the school. He asked me again.

"So?"

I sighed. I knew from the beginning that I would never win.

"Fine..." I gave up.

"Jake smacked my back "Great! We'll just go to your apartment and give you the tuxedo"

I was about to respond to him; but my back still hurts.

Jay grabbed his phone and dialed Jake.

"Sup bro, Jus will join us" he said.

I heard murmuring on the other side. "Yeah, but I will lend him one of my tux"

When the call ended, he moved his phone down, still in his dashing smile "We'll arrive at your apartment at 8PM"

I made a thumbs up.

"I will go for now, I'm sorta in a hurry. Sorry for the rush!" He ran away and rode his car.

Well... this is actually my first time going to a masquerade ball, since I don't like balls or parties.

I walked to my apartment as it was just a mile away from school.

I opened the door and went inside. I threw my bag to the side of the couch. I exhale while thinking what to do.

Welp, might as well get ready...

..

I went inside the building, and saw many man and women with formal clothes. They were all attractive. But still wearing their masks.

But mine, the tuxedo that I'm wearing was black with a fresh rose on my side that was thriving in health and vigor, I don't really know where Jay took this rose... sharp-looking, and well fitted.
