A Familiar Face

"Thanks for giving me a ride back"

"No problem" Jay smiled.

The car moved away as I waved them goodbye. I stood there watching as the car vanished from the buildings from a distance.

I went inside the building of my apartment. It wasn't really the best apartment ever but this is really all that I could afford. Well... At least this place kept me safe.

After climbing the stairs I finally arrived to my room. I went inside and sat at the couch.

Even this room a perfect place for an average person to stay at. A couch and a TV, a dining table and a small kitchen, my bedroom, and the bathroom.

This was such a tiring evening that I instantly fell asleep after taking a bath.

I woke up by the sound of my alarm and reached my hand out, tapping it to stop. I can't seem to find the switch and the sound still rang. I should really throw this clock. I sat the edge of my bed and smashed it's button. I glared at it, but then I felt stupid. I mentally slapped myself.

I stood up as I stretched my arms, smiled and opened the curtains, sunlights filled the entire room as I gazed outside seeing birds flying in freedom.

After watching the view, I decided to take a bath and planned to cook breakfast.

With my hair still wet, I grabbed 2 eggs inside the fridge and mixed them in a bowl. I thought of cooking omelet for breakfast.

Well, I'm not exactly an expert at cooking but I still know how to cook. I learned to because of my grandma. She would usually cook food for me when I was little. Since both my parents are not that great at cooking...

After eating, I placed the plate at the sink and prepared to leave my apartment and go to school.

I left my apartment and rode a bike to school. While riding, I remembered myself walking home last night... It was a traumatic experience for me since it felt like my legs were being tortured.

I just chuckled while trying to imagine what I looked like.

After a few minutes, I finally reached school. Well, my school has 3 floors. It also has a gymnasium and a garden. I would usually spend my time mosty on the gym where I swim in their swimming pool after class.

I went inside the building and went to the stairs. My classroom is located at the 2nd floor which is a hassle since we have to use the long stairs... Every lazy people's weaknesses.

After what felt like years of hardwork, I reached my classroom. I saw Jay sitting at his table with his group of friends. Not a rare sight to be honest...

I went to my chair which was located at the very back. As I was walking to my chair someone called my name.

"Hey! Jus!" I looked behind me and saw Jay going down from his table and walked to my direction... Well, I was a bit mad at him for leaving me alone in that masquesrade ball.

I glared at him without showing any signs of emotion. "What?" he chuckled. "Oh! By The Way, Did you enjoy the party last night?" He asked. How would I enjoy being left? Well, atleast I met someone nice...

I sighed "Next time, Don't invite people in a party that you will just leave alone later on". He laughed at me while turning his back and going back to his table.

I continued to walk back to my chair and started looking at the view outside the window.

The day continued smoothly like it always does. It's the last period in the morning. After this class would be lunch. All my classmates are waiting for the bell to ring.

When the bell finally rang, our teacher dismissed us and we already were free. I'm planning to eat at the canteen where it's cheap. I need to save money for the payment for my apartment which was due next week.

While trying to arrange my bag someone called me again. "Jus!" Jay came running towards me. I internally sighed... What will he say again this time?

I looked above so that I could see his face "Can you go with me at Cafe Mars?". I raised my eyebrows "And why should I go with you?"

That cafe is expensive, my wallet already looks thin, what more if I will join him? My wallet would already look malnourished.

"Well..." He scratched the back of his head and looked his side. "A girl invited me earlier. She said that we will meet there, probably asking me for a date... Look, She's not really my type... I want you to join us so that it won't be awkward"

Seriously? That's his "Problem"?
"So basically you want me to be the thirdwheel?" I tilted my head while showing a questioning look. "Hm... Maybe?" He anwered.

Dude... What kind of answer is that?! "Nah... Don't want to ruin someone's mood" I shook my head and continued arranging the contents of my bag. "Jus! This is a matter between life and death! Don't leave your precious bestfriend behind!" He panicked, pulled my shirt and began shaking me back and forth.

"Hahaha! N-no stop!" I laughed at him. "Yeah Yeah, Sure... I'll go.." I really can't disagree to this person. It would probably cost my life if I will.

"Thanks bud! I'll wait for you downstairs" He smiled and walked outside of the room. Tsk! Such an annoying bud...

When I was done fixing my stuff, I went downstairs like what he instructed.

Cafe Mars is not really that far from school. Probably just a block away. I rode inside Jay's car. "So... Who is this girl that invited you?" I asked. "Well... I actually don't know her..."

What...? How would you know know the name of the girl that you would date? I glared at him with a questioning look. He noticed me and then he chuckled.

"She just came to me and suddenly asked for us to meet at Cafe Mars. Then I just agreed... I don't want to be rude ya know? Then after that we exchanged numbers..." He continued to watch the road. I didn't say anything after that...

We arrived at Cafe Mars. It really looks expensive just from looking at the building. "Hey, Jay... Remember, I can't afford to by anything from this Cafe... It's expensive for me". He chuckled "Yeah Yeah, I'll just pay for you". I smiled as a sign of thanks.

We went inside and sat at one of the tables. I looked around, admiring the fancy decorations. There was a small pond with coys located at the corner of the room and the walls are filled with paintings. There's also a big amount of people eating here.

Jay pulled out his phone and started to call someone. I'm sure its his 'date'. I stood up "I'll just go to the pond". He nodded while talking to someone in the phone.

I walked to the pond and looked at the fishes inside. I smiled at the view. Nature really made me feel so relaxed...

"Enjoying the view huh?" A girl's voice startled me. I didn't notice someone was already beside me. I looked at my side and saw a familiar face.
