"What time is it?" The question was spoken in the familiar tones of a curious voice detached from any visible figure in the room, the surrounding darkness only faintly illuminated by the screen of a laptop and the contrasting yellow hues of the nearby desk lamp. "For the umpteenth time, my friend, it is..." Eddie's eyes flicked to the bottom corner of his laptop before returning his attention to the half-written paragraph in front of him. "-late." Five in the morning to be more accurate. Just thinking about the time was enough to draw out an exhausted breath from Eddie's body. "Thanks to you, I've managed to stay awake long enough to work on this article." He added. His unseen companion merely gave an indignant hum in response. "If you insist on subjecting the both of us to this torture you should at least know my hunger is starting to return. I would suggest finding something quickly, or you might have trouble breathing." "My lungs have been looking really appetizing to you lately. Why is that?" Eddie asked while typing away at another paragraph.
"They're soft and chewy. Plus, you don't need two. In fact, you might not need either of them." "Well, you're half right at least. Humans don't technically need two lungs to breathe. Might still be worth looking into human anatomy though." Eddie rose from the sofa. "But, if you're that hungry, then what'll it be?" Another hum emanated from Venom, the feeling tingling under Eddie's skin. "I remember seeing some chicken tenders in the fridge. It would be a waste not to finish them," He answered. "Alright! chicken tenders it is." Popping open the fridge and taking out the unfinished plate of tenders, he started the microwave and let them heat. "So, how long until you finish your article anyway? People are still getting robbed while we're still here and I get bored easily." "Do all symbiotes have such high demands?" Eddie returned to sit in front of the computer screen.
"I'm just saying, you could use a break. Since I am attached to you then I am practically forced to stare at your computer screen for most of the day. Couldn't you hurry this up a bit?" "It was your idea to get the word out about Drake's projects. According to Anne, there are a few of his labs still standing." "But we don't know if they are operational." Eddie saved his article and opened his browser. Meanwhile, two black tendrils shot from his back. The first shut off the microwave and grabbed the plate of tenders, while the second turned on the television. The local news was on.
"Two months have passed since a rocket, originating from Carlton Drake's facility, exploded seemingly without cause." Eddie glanced at the reporter. "According to our sources, Carlton Drake, founder of the Life Foundation, was indeed on the rocket, but the police officer heading the investigation of the explosion says that 'his body was never found.'"
"Do you think they are really dead?" Venom questioned. Eddie shook his head. "Wouldn't surprise me if he wasn't." Pressing the enter key, he leaned back into the seat cushion. "So, what do you think?" "About Drake?" "No," Eddie motioned towards his laptop. "Do you think we should try it?" The form of a black head with a dangerous visage, its surface oily and flowing freely, emerged from Eddie's back and stared at the screen. "'Auto Memories Doll Service.'" "They write letters at the request of their clients locally, but they do send their dolls out to other places. I might see if one of their dolls can be sent here to help ghostwrite. It would help speed up the process."
"Automemories dolls? A small plastic children's toy that can write? Humans have some very odd ways of doing things." Venom scoffed. "Well, they used to. A man by the name of Professor Orlando invented the prototype for the typewriter for his blind wife, a novelist. The term now refers to the writing industry." "If it helps you speed up your writing then by all means, please do it." Eddie chuckled. "Alright, alright. But later in the day. It's almost sunrise, you know; and I need some sleep."

9/26/2024Good morning, noon, or night everyone!
Been a while, eh? A lot's happened since I first started this story so long ago, and things are still happening. Plenty of projects to speak of, but I can't say many, if any, have to do with writing on Wattpad.
That being said, it's been too long since this story was updated, and although it had an ending at one point, I was never really satisfied with how my fourteen year old self had written things. So, while I won't make any promises, I do hope to have at least this story updated and finished.
Until the next part is updated, thank you all so much for all the support you've given this story over the years.
