Perfect Problems

Chapter 1 : P is for Potential

     I look up to my ceiling, everything was so... colorless here. I groaned, Having no clue why life was like this, I was just tired of it. Sighing, I rolled over onto my side. I thought about my mom and dad, I thought and thought. I thought about myself and who I was... but I didn't know who I was. I told myself I was a lost princess or a maybe an alien from Mars, thoughts like these brought color to my world.I looked over at my alarm clock, realizing 30 minutes had passed, 7:45. Grumbling, I staggered toward my dresser, pulling out a pair of socks and some underwear, and putting them on my bed. Soon a pair of skinny jeans, a tank-top and a white polo joined them. Along with my favorite coat and a beanie.

   Yawning I closed my curtains and got undressed, I hummed a song from the District and sang a few lyrics as well.My voice wasn't as silky as I wish it was, but it was at least bearable. I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror, turning to face, I scowled. I love my body but, I counted my showing ribs...4...6...6. I was too skinny for someone weighing 108, basically a twig.I sighed and began to get dressed. Once dressed I flopped down onto my bed, I never made it so it was always a big lump of softness. Leaning I turned on my nightlight, which glowed the whole spectrum of color. Smiling I layed back down, only to remember today WAS school. I popped up a walked into the restroom, quickly adding my facial products then sprinted down the stairs. Peeking into my brother's room, to make sure they were awake, only to find no one. Confused I rushed into the kitchen and looked at our clock, 7:55! I was going to be late again! I opened the pantry and grabbed a bag of Charlie's Corn-puffs.  Ran back upstairs to grab my bag, and a few other 'things'. I brushed my teeth and I stuffed my 2DS into my bag. I hopped down the stairs, I sprinted out the door.

   I was barely 5 miles from our house when my lungs were completely out of air." Gosh... Darnit"I huffed and slumped down next to a tree. I was so tired, yawning I layed my head on my knees, ending up falling asleep. "Psst, Stiiiiiicccckkk." I heard a voice."Waaakkee uuupppp." Then I felt  freezing water hit my face."GbvjGvgvmT6RjukiFO855JXWj!?!?!" I sputtered. This was defiantly on my list for worst ways to wake up someone. I looked up. " Are you ok Stick?" They held out a hand, I  took it pulling myself up. "Not really, but thanks Lucas," I grinned. "No problem," He replied with the most toothy grin I have ever seen from him.

       We walked down the road talking about family and school, until Lucas brought up the sleeping road thingy. " So tell me why you were asleep on the sidewalk, NEXT to a ROAD. I chuckled telling him about how I took forever to get up and by the time I was ready, I was late. Lucas looked me straight in the eye laughing. "What?" I was confused. "You know today is Daylight Savings, right?" He grinned. I rolled my eyes, then joining his laughter. "Gosh, I'm stupid," I joked. Lucas smiled adding " Maybe just a little." We laughed so more.

   We ended getting to school earlier than I thought. So, we decided to sit in the Gazebo. Lucas had to finish his math, so I helped him. Lucas isn't the best with math so I'm like his best-friend/ tutor. Once we were done, I decided to ask Lucas a question that  had been running through my mind since this morning." Lucas..." "Hmm?" " Why didn't you walk with Lycan today..." Lucas didn't answer and just looked at his papers. I didn't understand Lucas and Lycan were always walking together, they were identical twins. So they were bound to be close. Lucas sighed, "He's just been different lately..." Lucas looked up towards me, sadness flushed over his face. Pulling him into a hug, I smiled. " Hey it will be ok, there is nothing you two have not worked out between you too. He would never change to hurt you personally." Lucas just hugged me tighter.

After a few minutes of support, Lucas smiled." So speaking of Lycan, I was wondering if I could stay at your place for Winter-break?"I had completely forgotten about Winter-break. " SURE!" I cried. " We are going to have to go shopping for gifts though," I smiled. Lucas's eyes lit up " Gurl, you know I am 100% fine with ANY shopping ANY day." I laughed,"I know."
