(Unknown Professor's POV)
*The Auditorium*
All eyes were on me as I walked up onto the stage pushing an over-sized interactive whiteboard with me.
Having my name be called by the major officials, I knew that this was my chance to show off my latest invention, which will hopefully bring a stop to this war.
Confident with my works, I abruptly jogged to the podium waving to the crowd before me. Ready to present my newest innovation, I gazed into the audience, puffed up my chest, raised the microphone towards my lips, and began my presentation.
Professor: "Good evening fellow colleges! It is with great honor that I am here before you discussing what great technology our lab has been working on!"
I was greeted with clapping and cheers from the audience.
Prof. Keyan: "Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Professor Keyan. Throughout my life, I have devoted myself to lab and research facilities."
The audience mostly consisted of military and government officials, but the rest were researchers from different lab research facilities, which had to be built underground in fear of being found by the Russians or Chinese.
Prof. Keyan: "I am well sure that everyone in this room is aware of what has been happening in our world, but unfortunately, times have been tough, and as much as it regrets for me to inform you this but... ladies and gentlemen, we are only delaying the inevitable."
I heard soft chatter around me.
Scientist 1: "Delaying the inevitable?"
Scientist 2: "Can you elaborate please?"
Prof. Keyan: "Indeed, I may. With Russia and China now as one democracy and our shortage of resources, it is only a matter of time before they force an attack on what is now left of our territory. They have pushed us up north and kept us here for far too long now. With nowhere to run, our government will fall, and us, along with it."
Although I assumed everyone in the room knew our current state in the war, I tapped on the whiteboard to reveal what territory we have currently occupied left by us Canadians and Americans:
The room fell silent as people glanced at the map.
Prof. Keyan: "This is what we can only assume what is happening to the rest of the globe whilst being enclosed in our own territory. We have not heard any updates on either Britain or France, nor any other members of the British Commonwealth. We can only hope that the rest of the commonwealth have their own procedures, but either than that, we do not have contact to any other countries, we can only think that Russia and China have achieved the impossible and conquered the globe."
There was a long pause among the crowd. This was after all a very strong opponent we were facing with here.
The silence was broken by the American Major General. A strong looking man, which looked to be in about his prime years. He was seated at the very front of the audience.
