She unwraps her legs from around me and I set her down. She caresses the side of my face as if pulling away from her isn't the hardest thing I had to do. Her hands are shaking and her breathing is still heavy from our kiss but she's so sure of her movements.

"Why?" She asks softly, but confused.

"Because you deserve better." Is the last thing I say to her before I place a soft kiss on her lips and leave her standing under the tree, with her fingers to her lips. That image will haunt my for the rest of my days.

"Jax?" Violet calls out as I rush past the kitchen.

"Bye, Violet! Tell Rex I had to go! Thanks for today!" I call out right before I close the door behind me.

I hop in my car and slam my hands down on my steering wheel with force. Im fuckin' pissed I let myself get there cause now I know, I won't stop. I just had to kiss her, didn't I. I knew the second I got a taste of sweet Harley's lips, I wasn't going to get enough. She's a good mother and a good woman and as much as I crave her, she doesn't need to deal with an asshole womanizer like me.

I bring up my phone and call Ace. He'll help me.

"Yo." He answers.

"Wanna meet me over at Smith's?" I ask as I start up the car. I need to erase the last fifteen minutes of my night.

"Already here." Of course he is, where else would he be. Ace drinks more than fish.

"I'll be there in twenty." I hang up and make my way over.

Throughout my drive, my asshole brain replays what just happened. The feel of her soft skin, her legs wrapped around my waist, that fucking little moan, ugh, fuck me! It takes everything in me not to turn around and finish what we started. Luckily, I arrive at Smith's right before I change my mind.

I walk into the bar and immediately find Ace sitting in our usual spot sitting with a woman. I walk my way over to him and I notice he's with Claire, the waitress here. Her and Ace are good friends since he basically lives here. As soon as I sit, I nod my head to the bartender, Jack, letting him know to bring over the usual.

"Well, you look stressed." Ace says as he takes a sip out of his beer. "Claire, could you give us a sec." He says to Claire. She nods understandingly and walks back over to the bar.

I place my elbows on the table, rest my head on my palms and let out a huge sigh.

"Whats your deal, bro?"

"I fuckin' kissed her, man." I say, my face still in my hands. I lift my head up and look at him, "I kissed her."

"Who?" He asked, looking extremely lost.

"Harley, you fuckin' space cadet!"

He grins then lets out a huge laugh. "Fucking finally! Geez, you can feel the sexual tension a mile away with you two. Now you can finally fuck her and move on."

Claire brings over the beers and a shot of whiskey. "I thought you might need it." She says with an understanding smile.

I throw back the shot and chase it down with some beer. " I shouldn't have kissed her, though." I say to him, my voice raspy from the shot.

"Don't be a pussy, man. What's done is done I say. You're Jax Hill. You're a guitarist in one of the biggest bands in the world and you're fucking a new woman every weekend. I don't see the big deal." He says picking up his beer.

"You don't understand. She's the first woman who I cant get out of my mind no matter how hard I try not to. It's been weeks now, months, since I met her and everyday I wake up with her in my mind. Then my dumbass had to go on and fuckin' kiss her."

He chuckles lightly. "Pussy whipped, I see. Why don't you try and... you know.. be with her." He says, shuddering like thats the worst thing in the world.

"I can't. I'm not the kind of man who's tied down. Besides, what the fuck do I have to offer her. I'm an asshole." I take anther drunk of my beer.

"God, you sound like a woman. Let me tell you a story, shit face." He says as he sits back.

"Here we go again." I roll my eyes and sigh. "You're plastered aren't you?" Ace holds his liquor so well, that you can't ever tell how drunk he is until he smokes a cigarette.

"I had her. I had a Dannie, a Violet, an Olivia. I had her slip out of the cracks of my fingers." He says, looking down at his hands as if he can see her actually slip through his fingers.

He remains quiet for a few seconds before he continues. "I would have given her the fuckin' world, man." He says quietly. "But she left me. So fuck her. And that's women for ya." He raises his voice, slamming his fist on the table on the last word. "Claire! Bring us another round." He points down to the empty glasses on our table. "The key to it all is to drink a little.. or a lot, sleep with the next available woman, and keep it moving. Trust me. You don't need that shit, fucks with your head."

We've all wondered about Ace and his mystery lover. We've known Ace for over ten years, and we still have never seen him with a woman or even talk about being in love. Except for when he's drunk. Who knows, maybe he imagined her. All I know is that I'm starting to understand Dean, Rex and Link and what it means to have your panties up in a twist about a woman.

"Maybe you're right."

"Of course, I'm right!" He says, smiling.

The next morning, I wake up to my phone buzzing in my pocket. I sigh as I dig for it. Not many people know my number and since it's Sunday, it could only be one person. Sitting back down, I answer it.

"Hey mom."

"Jackson, baby. Am I waking you?" She asks sweetly.

"Yeah, Ace and I were out late last night. How are you? How's Jason?" I ask.

"We're fine. You know we're always fine. You don't have to worry about us."

"Of course but I do anyway." I say warmly.

"Well I don't want to keep you. I was just calling to see if you were coming to dinner tonight?" She asks like if I'd miss it. Every Sunday when I'm in town, I have dinner with mom and Jason.

"I wouldn't miss it for the world."

"Alright, dear." I hear her moving around in the kitchen. "Jason misses you." She adds.

"And I miss him. Both of you." I tell her. I hear my call waiting, take a quick look and see that it's Harley. I jump up. "Alright mom, I'll see you tonight, okay? I love you." I say.

"I love you more." She says. She always says she loves me more.

I hang up and switch the call over to Harley. "Hello?"

I hear her quickly gasp. "Shit." She whispers.

"Harley?"
