We've been in the woods for about an hour now and the whole time I've been running around and telling Elliot all the ways I used to hunt and spy. I can admit I was acting like a child and El did his best to point it out.

"Okay, then I would sneak up behind a tree about 20 meters from the camp and just scout." I say hiding behind a tree just barely peeking out, pretending I'm scouting a camp. "Once I knew they were asleep I would take what I could or needed." I say then pouncing at the imagery campsite.

"Calm down there, pup." Elliot laughed, obviously amused by my animal and child like behaviour. "What the fuck did you just call me!" I snap at him. "Pup. P-u-p!" he repeated adding an extra pop to the last 'p' with a smug smile on his mug. I was about to walk up to him and wipe it right off his face when I heard a click.

My mind automatically when into wolf mode, survive and protect. I stopped and looked around, but there was nothing I could see, the forest was too dense. "Hey, Wolfie, are you okay? You should be beating me up now." he said humorously, obviously unaware of the danger my gut is telling me is just ahead. "Someone's here." I say to him, not taking my eyes off of the place I heard to click come from. "Are you sure? The woods are always patrolled no one can get in." he reasoned, but I know better.

I turn to look at him for a split second and that was my fatal mistake.

*bang*

The impact knocks me over and I'm on the cold, wet soil.

*click*

They're reloading, they're not done yet. I get up on my knee and see Elliot saying something to me but, all I can think is that he's exposed. I hear another click. They're about to shoot.

I throw myself at Elliot.

*bang*

The bullet punctures my shoulder, again. We fall to the ground and somehow Elliot is facing the floor and I'm on top. I look down at him the bullet when straight through me and hit his back.

I flip him over and search for an exit wound but, there is none. "Elliot we need to go!" I urge getting up but, he doesn't move "Teach! Get up!" I urge again still no movement. I look into his eyes, they look panicked and defeated. "Teach?" There's something very wrong.

"I'm so sorry." He looks at me sad eyed, "Wolfie, I can't move." I look at him, mind and heart absent from my body. "I can't move, you need to go!" He repeats, but I fall to my knees. Tears begin to pool at the base of my eyes.

"I can't leave you, El!" I say thinking of a way to get us both out before we bleed to death. "I- I... I can carry you!" I feel the sadness roll down my cheeks as my words get stuck in my throat. He gives me a warm smile. "If I could, I'd cup your face and wipe those tears away." he says humorously, somehow finding a way to crack a bad joke as we're both dying. Tears of panic and sadness continued to fall from my eyes.

His expression turns serious when we hear another click. "I need you to go back to the camp and get help!" he urges me, but I shake my head no. "I'm not going to leave you." I say weakly, the blood loss starting to get to my and I feel slightly lightheaded. "This is the only way we can survive. I need you to do this, please!" he begs, sorrow and sadness fill his eyes but he manages to give me a reassuring smile.

I finally nod. "Okay. I'll be back with help." I say to him placing a hand on his cheek, "I love you, Teach." A sad smile appears on my lip. "I love you too, Wolfie." he smiles back as tears run down both of our dirt stained faces.
I get up and just as I'm about to begin to run back to camp I hear Elliot whisper something, 'Przepraszam, wilczku'.

I run as fast as I can to the gate shouting for help. As I run, I hear another bang behind me, making me shiver but I keep going, holding onto the slightly bit of hope that it wasn't targeted at Elliot but at me.
