The world spins around her as she pulls out her ipod, the only thing that seems to be anything like normal to her right now. A song she recognizes is playing, A touch of evil by judas priest. With a small breath she stands, letting her world spin for a moment as she looks around her eyes widening in fear.
"Oh God. Please, not this place again..." She takes in the scenery of fire and smoke. The heat is almost unbearable but she does her best to ignore it.
"Why the hell am I here in this hell hole again!?" The woman stands, fear and worry pulsing through her veins. Small breaths escape her mouth as she whispers against the silence. "Lethum Cata Ador..." A loud growl erupts out of her throat as she takes a step forward. Slowly she finds her way out of the forest of darkness and into the cemetery of lost light. She doesn't know why or how she was called back to this hellish place...but she knew until she defeated the dark lord once again, there was not escaping this place. She could feel all the demonic presences watching her, mocking her, taking in her smell and waiting to sink their teeth into her soft human skin. A small smirk appears on her face. "Dark lord," She raises her eyes to the redened sky, "I'm coming for you, and this time, I WILL finish the job!" The woman shakes her head, lets out a laugh and starts walking. Fire licks her heels and the smell of sulfur and smoke fill her lungs. She would survive this time around, she would win against these devilish creatures and even the dark lord himself. She knew her adventure was just beginning and she only knew it'd continue to get worse by the day until she finished the task she was sent back to complete.
With every step she took, anger and hatred filled her veins. Memories from her past experiences here flashed before her eyes. So much pain, so many tears shed on the battlefield of misery. "Again, why am I here AGAIN!" She screams and stomps at the ground. "I'm Lamia Venatrix! Because of you, mister "dark lord", I lost so much in my life. I don't sleep anymore because of you!!!" She screams to the point of hurting her voice. "I'm never going to forgive you." Lamia stops short of an old rickety bridge expanding over the chasm of hopelessness. "It's all cause of you dark lord..." She slowly glances up, looking at the bridge in front of her. She knows that as soon as she crosses this bridge, there is no going back. There is no return. It is either kill or be killed. Only darkness surrounded the opposite side of the bridge. "I hate his bridge." Lamia growls lowly. "I hate this place...why am i even back here?" Slowly Lamia puts her foot on the bridge and takes the first step then looks around. The place is dead silent and eerily abandoned. Memories of last time flashed before her ripping at her heart. A deadly fight had accured with what now seems like not so long ago. The now clear feild was once saturated with the blood of demons and the lights. Bodies were laid out everywhere but now it looked perrfectly normal. As if the past had never happened. "This isn't right..." Lamia closed her eyes for a second then opened them taking a breath. "I can do this." Without another thought Lamia puts one foot in front of the other and slowly but surely makes her way across the old bridge. With each step the ropes moan with age and the planks beneath her feet quiver and shake threatening to drop her straight down into hopelessness. Last time she was in this position, crossing the bridge that tied the worlds together, her mission was to open the portal for the lights to escape, defeat the dark lord, and go home. Though now, she had no idea what her true mission was, maybe this time it was to fully destroy the dark lord and set this entire place free. She truly had no idea, but for now, her misson was to get to the cemetey, which was located a mile or so from this bridge. The cemetary was a place of neutral peace. You don't disturb the dead or the dead will return with a vengance. Demons fear the cemetary, the Lights love the silence there, and Lamia craved the peaceful sleep she hoped and prayed would come to her. If that was even possible.
As she made her way to the other side of the bridge her mind swam with all the different situations that could happen and appear out of no where. The demons could attack at any moment if the dark lord so choosed, she could get lost along the way and wonder Lethum for the rest of eternity, or the dark lord himself could appear and rip her limb from limb. With any amount of luck though, the dark lord had no idea she was here yet. The element of surprise is all she had over the dark lord at this point. Her thoughts whirled and spun around in her mind. She was confused and nervous. She may not make it out alive this time, but with a little prayer and hope, she just might stand a single chance. As for now, each step took her closer and closer to the cemetary where she could gather her thoughts and figure out the next step she would have to take.
"Please..." Her voice barely rose above a whispers, "let me take vengance out on the dark lord. Let me have my revenge against all my fallen comrades. I can do this...I will defeat the dark lord..."
Lamia stopped speaking and let the silence fill her ears. In the distance, you could hear screams and howls of the damned souls who would have to rot in this place for eternity. In front of her she could see the steeple for the cemetary rise and grow bigger on the horizen. Slowly her steps became quicker and longer until Lamia broke out in a run, refusing to stop for anything or anyone until she reached those cemetary gates. This was the only place she would be able to take any form or refuge and with the saving grace on her side, she just might actually have a chance. A chance to escape this living hell. A chance...to redeem herself and her old sins.
