*Savannah's POV*
After a few moments later it was the time to perform with the main stars; the lovely Koalas with my brothers Zach, Jack and Corbyn. They will be up and close with the public eyes, maybe be even up and awake. It starts in ten minutes
"Hey guys, I'm Savannah and here with me is Jack, Zach and Corbyn. We can often hear about these adorable Australian cute animal called 'koala bears' or 'drop bears', but they are not actually bears at all. Koalas are a species of marsupials, so they will carry their young in a pouch in their stomachs, unlike the commonly known bears, where they carry the young in the womb until they are well developed and give birth. The koalas live almost entirely on eucalypt leaves, it gives in them the water source and nutrients that they need. In fact they have a very, very low metabolic rate for a mammal, funnily which is why they can sleep for up to 20 hours a day!!!!" I said confidently to the audience.
"Phascolarctos cinereus is their scientific names." Jack says with confidence.
"Koalas can vary in size and colour depending on where they live in Australia as you can see. Koalas found in mostly the southern distributions; Southern NSW and Victoria. They tend to be a bit larger and darker than those who live in the northern areas such as Northern NSW and QLD. " He added on.
"It is most likely to be mainly related to the different temperatures, areas and is a type of feature, that's exhibited by  the many sorts of species whose distribution surrounded large climatic changes and conditions." I continued on with the script. And whilst holding Dexter showing him off to the crowd of like a hundred or more tourists and regular goers.
"The most notables, physical feature of a Koala, would have to be its very big fluffy ears. Koalas have a very amazing sense of hearing, and even better sense of smell. This is how they can choose which leaves are the greatest one to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Their eyesight isn't really the best, therefore a detection of predators, and is generally by the sound and different noises. They possess very strong forearms and extremely long, sharp claws for climbing." Corbyn said in amazement.
"Koalas are found in eucalypt trees, high up in the air, around the Eastern and South Eastern coast of Australia. The majority of wild Koalas are found on private property thus meaning there is no formal protection of the habitat." Zach said, then giving a short pause, so he could take a sip of water.
"It is not known why some areas are absent of Koalas despite the presence of a food source, but it is possible that historically hunting has driven local populations to extinction." Zach said in sadness.
"Koalas only eat eucalypt leaves but only from certain species.
There are over 700 different Eucalyptus species occurring within Australia. The Koalas will eat the leaves from less than 50 of those species. They prefer the 'tip' of the branches, which has the juiciest and softest leaves, and eat about 500g of leaf per day. Wild Koalas would have to depend on whatever leaf is available to them. During, the more cooler months would often be forced to eat the more mature leaves to give more nutrients to live." I told the crowd which mainly had young childern.
"When breeding, female Koalas are ready to start breeding. She would call out to any male by letting out a very loud snorting bellow. A female would then give birth 35 days after mating. When born, the young; Joeys will only weighs about half a gram and is a size of a kidney bean at about 2cm long. It stays attached to its mothers teat(nipple) for around 13 weeks." Jack said lovingly.
"Its' eyes will open at 22 weeks and it gains the teeth at about 24 weeks. At around the 2 month mark, age bracket, the Joey will start taking short spells climbing on the mother's back and will usually and be independent at about 12 months old, thank you guys for coming, you can next see the birds of prey at 11:30am and if you wish to take a photo with Dexter, you can do so now and you can feed them when taking a photo." I lastly said, in relief that it was finally over.
