Chapter 2

I woke up from a blinding light. I knew where i was. I come here all the time. As i come here i grow more fond of the doctors, i knew them quite well. I am in the hospital. More known as my second home. I really like the doctors here but i wish i didn't have to come here so often.

"Oh hey Skylar. Its nice to see you again. Well its not not nice to see you like that. I- I mean l-like-" I bursted out in laughter. 'Cause i am finding this hilarious. His name is Austin Stewart. He is in collage and he is volunteering here at the hospital as a nurse to get started on the medical path. He likes me a lot but i don't like him in that term for obvious reasons. But he doesn't know that, and he doesn't need to know that either.

"Its nice to see you too, Austin." I was happy he was here. He is like the brother i always wanted. But instead i got stuck with my "brother" Ryan. Ryan made my life miserable when my parents were still around. My parents never knew about Ryan beating on me. I was scared. But i am tired of being scared. I am tired of being picked on. I am tired of people treating me like a disease or a punching bag. I am honestly done.

"How are you feeling?" Austin asked. "i am feeling just perfect." I replied with as much sarcasm as i could put. I was feeling like shit. A feeling i am use too. The only time i am happy is with Bella and her family. "Here drink some water." "Thank you. Hey how long have i been out for?" i asked. "About 7 hours." he responded. "Wow. Not as long as the rest of them. New record." that cheered me up. "I should go get a doctor to check up on you, then i will call your gaurdians. I shall be back." then he walked out. Seconds of patiently waiting the doctor came in with a clipboard. "Hello Sky, you doing any better?" "Eh.." "Ok well you got hit pretty bad in the head. So just follow my finger with only your eyes." he moved his finger from left to right, up and down. But i was sure i was fine. "ok. Well no nerve damage. When you were out like a light we did an x-ray and you have a broken rib, and a fractured wrist. The rib will take about 2 weeks to heal, and you wrist will be about 10 weeks. You are gonna stay home, and stay in bed for those 2 weeks. You are bed bound. The only time you may get out is for the bathroom, and hygeine purposes. You may not shower but take a bath. I suggest you Get lots of rest, and you may leave the hospital tomorrow morning. hope you feel better champ!" "Ok thanks doc for everything." "no problem champ. I have a daughter your age, she went through the same things you did. And it was torture seeing her go through it. So i want the best for you. Well i should go and check up on the other patients." He got up and headed towards the door. But before he reached the door he turned around and said "If you need anyone to talk to, about anything. ill always be here." he smiled then left."

i stared and the plain white ceiling, feeling bored as ever. As i was drifting off into a blissful sleep i was awoken by Bella running into the room, screaming. And jumped on the bed giving me the biggest hug which is Where i needed more oxygen. When she let go i noticed she had a black eye and a busted lip. I feel terrible. She got hurt cause of me.

"Sky! You woken up! I was so scared i had lost you! Oh my god!" "You will if you keep on hugging me like that... Where are your parents, and sisters?" i asked out of curiosity. "oh they are coming. The elevators werent in service over here. And we didnt feel like walking to the other side of the building." she responded. "well i get out tomorrow morning and i am bed rest for 2 weeks." which means no running for me." i said sadly. I usually go out every morning at 6 and run in the woods. "Oh hey Julie, scott, Daisy, and Angel!" i exclaimed as they walked in to the door way looking exhausted. Scott, and Julie are Bellas parents. Daisy, an dAngel are her sisters "Hey Sky. We have some good and bad news. Which would you like first." they said "I would like the good news please. I really need some." "Well Scott got promoted at work and is becoming the head fire chief down in England."Julie enthused. "Thats great news! Congradulations!... So whats the bad news?" "We are all moving down there." "What do you mean we are all moving down there?" I asked? This has to be a dream. I am finally getting out of here. If only i was old enough i would be able to get out of here. Like i love Canada, but i wanna get out of Toronto. Get away from my school and everyone i ever knew. Except for Bella and her family, the doctors and Austin. Theyre the only people i have left. Theyre the only reasons i am still here. "Thats not bad... THATS GREAT! FINALLY I GET AWAY FROM HERE! NO MORE BULLIES, NO MORE HITS, JUST HAPPINESS! I CAN FINALLY BE HAPPY IN PUBLIC! I CAN FINA-" "Sky calm down. You are going to hurt yourself more. But we are not leaving until you are better. At least your ribs at least." Angel said.

Angel is a year older then Bella and i. She is 18. and Daisy is 15. all 4 of us are pretty close. But i am the closest to Bella. But like all sibling they fight. The 3 of those girls fight 24/7. But they love eachother and they all know it. I love this family as if they were my own. I miss my parents terribly and so does the grace family. Bellas family was very close to my parents. Thats how i met Bella. We grew up together since we were in diapers. She has been there for me through everything. And i couldnt ask for a better bestfriend.

We heard a knock "ITS OPEN!" I yelled. "Excuse me. But visiting hours is done in 5 minutes. You may come back tomorrow morning at 11am." a nurse said politley. They are always so kind and polite here. I am going to miss this place so much. Well only this place and my home. "Well we should get going missy." Scott said as he ruffled my hair. "We should. Well we will see you in 12 hours. Get some rest." Julie said and kissed my forehead. "hope you feel better!" daisy said. "We will see you in a little while kid." Angel said. She has a habit of calling me kid. "I AM NOT A KID!" I yelled. Angel chuckled. Gahh. I am a 17 year old girl. I am not kid. "Well BYE BESTIE I AM GONNA MISS YOU SO MUCH! I DONT THINK I COULD LAST ANOTHER NIGHT WITHOUT YOU! I SHOULD JUST STAY AND SLEEP UNDER THE COT!" Bella said. She was so over dramatic. Its one night. I motioned her to come here. And she did. She lowerd her head so i can whisper in her ear. But thats when i yelled "ILL MISS YOU TOO YA LOSER" we all yelled bye again. Then we kind of got into trouble cause of all the yelling. Then they all left. I am so glad i have them. They make me feel loved. I knew i was loved by them. But still. And now we are leaving! I cant believe it. Finally. I dont think ill be able to handle another year of this bull shit. I lasted 8 years. I am done. But now i dont even have to worry about them fuckers. Well. Ill still have to finish this semester off first. But then ill be able to leave. As i was thinking more about England i drifted of to a beautiful sleep with a smile on my face.
