WHAT COMES NEXT

James had never been more nervous in his life, not even while waiting for Lily's answer while he was on his knees.

"Err....ummm...Lily...Lils dear...ummm..." he stammered, breaking into a cold sweat.

She was standing near the window as moonlight washed over her face and the cool breeze played with the luxuriant locks of her flaming hair.

"She is a Goddess," was all James could think.

He thought he heard a board squeak outside the door but soon forgot about it as Lily turned and gave him one of her divine smiles.

"OH!!", he gasped, "I-" and words were lost in his mouth as Lily pressed hers on it.

An expression of bliss covered his face as Lily drew back still holding his face in her soft, warm hands. Not that this was their first kiss, but he has never kissed LILY POTTER!!

The thought made him blush a deep shade of scarlet.

"I love you," he mumbled.

Was that something scratching at the door??

Just then, Lily gave him a crooked grin, "Get your pants off Potter!"

But he was frozen to his spot, blushing furiously which made Lily sigh and rip off his trousers herself.

James only kept mumbling under his breath, unable to form any proper words, completely tongue-tied, literally, as just a moment later it was, when Lily's tongue found its way around his.

He melted in her embrace, all thoughts vanished. He only knew one thing, he loved this woman and would even go to hell for her.

"Ouch!!", a small voice squeaked outside.

"Make space for me," another voice hissed.

"Peter?? Dorcas??", they both questioned, simultaneously breaking away from the kiss.

An urgent shushing voice could be heard from outside the door.

"What the hell! I'm trying to get some c*ck here!!" Lily shouted as she freed herself from James's embrace and move towards the door.

Her comment was followed by lots of giggles and laughter.

"Couldn't you guys keep quiet even for a moment?!!" It was Remus.

"How could I Moony? The poor deer!"

"OH SHUT UP!! Now is not the time for your stupid puns!", chided Marlene.

"Make me." retorted Sirius.

"Oh please!" Marlene was almost on the verge of smacking Sirius when Lily opened the door.

"BUSTED!!" chortled Sirius.

"I t-told them it was wrong! T-trust me, Lily! It was all their plan!!" Alice blurted out.

"SHUT YOUR TRAP, ALICE!!" the heap of human bodies huddled near the door shouted back at Alice.

Lily was holding her head in exasperation when Dorcas gave a little yelp and covered her eyes. It was then, that they noticed that James was standing in a very embarrassed state in "SNITCH-PATTERENED UNDERWEAR!!", exclaimed Sirius and Marlene.

Remus could only shake his head saying,"Grow up, Prongs!"

All of them doubled over in laughter and James couldn't find any convenient place to hide his face. He could have given anything to get his hands on his invisibility-cloak and stay beneath it for the rest of his pathetic-life.

To add to his shame, Mrs. Potter came up the stairs saying, "What are you bunch of trouble-makers up to, now? Give those two so-MERLIN'S PANTS JAMES!! PUT SOME PANTS ON!!!!"

James was already thinking of easy ways to change his identity and disappear forever when Lily finally closed the door after Mrs. Potter had dragged the lot of them, including a whining Sirius saying,"Please Mum!!! Just this once!!!!"

Lily turned towards a very red-faced James after casting Muffliato near the door. Slowly, she went towards him and wrapped her arms around his neck.

"So, where were we?" Lily looked at James with a crooked grin as he pinned her against the wall.
