As Delta Airlines flight 174 touched down in sunny Arizona, Brittany could not contain her excitement for the coming weekend. Giant beams of warm sunlight burst through the tiny cabin windows, illuminating her cheeks. Brittany had never seen the sun before.
As the girl was wrapped in the warm embrace of the light, she daydreamed of reuniting with her friends and celebrity crush. But her dream was quickly interrupted and her plans were narrowly thwarted.
As Canadian Brittany was not aware that the American government was currently on its 19th day of shut down, and air traffic control employees had just decided to not show up for work.
The plane came screeching down the runway. Brittany clutched her lucky teddy bear, Thomas II, sensing that this would surely be her demise. This was Brittany's first time traveling alone, and she had never been more anxious. As it turns out, Brittany's anxiety was justified.
They crashed.
Brittany was the only survivor.
