"Hello ?" I hear a deep voice with music playing in the background .

"Hey..." I answer shyly .

"Raielle ?"

"Yeah ."

"You shy or sum ?" He chuckles .

"A little..."

Oh Lord, his voice😩 and his accent😍😭

"Oh . You ain't got nun to be scared of ." Another chuckle . "You good though ?"

"Yeah...I'm good . I'm sorry about the other day...I guess I am a bit sensitive sometimes ." I bite the inside of my mouth as I wait for his response .

"It's all good . I'm just glad you ok ."

"...So, this is what Kenny sounds like ." I grin even though he can't see me .

"And this is what Raielle sound like . I really ain't expect you to have such a soft voice ."

"Oh, I'm just shy today . Trust me nigga, it can change ." I say making him laugh .

"Mane, now I really wanna see how you look . You tryna FaceTime ?"

"Um . . . Not really . Not right now anyway ."

"Why not ?"

"Because I look a whole mess . I just woke up from my nap ."

"Aight . I guess we lyin' to each other again huh ."

"What you mean ? You'on even know what I look like right now ."

He chuckles . "I know you tripping if you think ima believe that's why you'on wanna FaceTime ."

"Ion know what you talking bout..."

"Mane never mind . . . But you really ain't coming to see me no more ?"

"Well not today...maybe another day..I don't know ."

"You want me to come see you ?"

I think for a minute and suddenly find myself smiling .

"I mean...you want to ?"

"If you want me to ."

"Ok ." I'm fully grinning now .

"Next weekend ?"

"You gon bring me sum ?" I ask .

"What you want ?"

"Mm...Hot Cheetos ."

"I got you . "

"Hmm...and a hug ." I add .

"You can get a hug on one condition..."

"And what's that ?"

"You gotta let me see yo face ."

"Ughh...why you bugging ?"

"Yeen even gotta do allat . Just lemme see yo face right quick ."

"Do I have to ?"

"Yup ."

"Alright...fine ." I take off my headscarf and sit up a little before pressing the FaceTime button . I bite my lip and my heart pounds against my chest as I wait for him to answer the call .

As soon as he answers it I literally feel my heart stop for a second as he smiles at me through the camera .
