My eyes widened as I felt the bullet hit my chest going through my heart.  I looked at the lady and smiled lightly.

"karma always finds its way to make something right..." I whispered softly.

She growled the smirk leaving her face.  She fired the gun a couple more times, laughing insanely.  I glared at her as she left.  The locker room door opened and closed quickly before I heard her leave the room.

"You sure did get yourself into quite the predicament, didn't you?"  a young, beautiful lady asked me as she grabbed my wrist bringing it up to her mouth.  She bit into it and liquid started to pour into the wound, burning the skin as it spread.  She placed her hand over my mouth to muffle my screams and picked me up carrying me out the door quickly.  I sucked in one less breathe before closing my eyes, feeling myself being burned inside-out.

I woke up in a strange looking room.  The door opened and in walked two people talking.
"She'll wake up soon.  You'll get to talk to her than, explain why she's here and what she is.  You'll also need to explain yourself, she just remembers you as the lifeguard where she works, but she doesn't know this side of you.  She needs to know and accept you, you guys are mates."

He chuckled, "me and her, mates? please, i would have felt it."

She shook her head "You have, don't even try to lie about it, I saw the way you looked at her and shuddered.  you also kept the others away from her."

"she was still changing, so yes I did protect her, it was instinctual."

She chuckled, "sure it was, just admit it Ryan, she's your mate."

Ryan shook his head, "I don't think she is, sure, i'm attracted to her, but she's not it, she is not my mate."
