I walked down towards reception from the threatre room to see Clegg, Kim and Zara huddled around each other whispering in an urgent and hushed tone. I was past the stage where this could be unnormal. Everything in this workplace was far from it.

As I approached further, Kim caught my eye and then looked down abruptly, whispering something quickly. The three of them strightened up as I got to the desk.

"What?" I said chuckling at them being all suspisious.

Martin signed and looked over at me. "Patrick come with me." Worried. He looked seriously concerned.

"Martin what's going on?" I stepped into his office and he closed the door behind him. "Martin."

"Sit down." He guestured to the chair infront of him desk.

"Martin, what's going on?" I said annoyed that it was taking him so long to get to the point, that seemed important, and in a bad way.

"It's about Nina." My heart sunk. Everything in my world zoned out to a mute, and the only thing I could hear and see were the words coming out of Cleggs mouth.

I didn't say anything, my whole body was suddenly in lock down, tense and ready to be destroyed at any moment now.

"She's just arrived in Emergancy. Her sister found her unconscious in bed late this morning. We don't know how long she was unconscious for but we do know that it's been longer than a little while." Each word that came out of his mouth was in slow motion, his voice slered in my head and I could feel myself sinking, sinking back into a place far to familiar than it should be. Oh god. I was falling, effortlessly. It wasn't something I was in control of. I was going into a dark place. I could feel it, darker than i remember it being.

My eyes were locked on Martin, but I wasn't looking at him. My vision was blurred and foggy looking out. I wasn't sure if I understood what he was saying.

"Patrick. Patrick!" Martin said, now beside me shaking me slightly, to get me out of this trance I was in.

"Yes?" I said expressionless.

"She's downstairs. Her family are all waiting outside her room for when they can see her." He said slowly so that I understood exactly what he was saying. "You should be there Patrick."

"I uh... I don't think they would want me there." I said blinking to clear my vision. Martin handed me a tissue. I hadn't noticed I was whelling up. Hold it together. I bit down hard on my teeth.

"I doesn't matter what they may or may not want. You need to be there. Come on, I'll come with you."

He put his hand under my shoulder and pulled me up.

I couldn't loose her.

We walked down the corridoor of the Emergancy section. Martin was leading me through to the area where only staff could enter. Taking me to her, before her family were able to be with her. So they couldn't push me away.

Martin went to the nurses desk to find out what room she was in currently. He came back and lead me to the corridoor parellel to this one we were on now. I reached the door and looked in.

She was so still. Hooked up to so many machines.

Sinking. further.

A strangled sound came out of my mouth. I couldn't breathe. I quickly hurried into the room, there was only a nurse in the room. She recognised me and smiled empathetically before leaving the room.

I stood there for what seemed like forever, just looking at her. I could feel the rain coming down my cheeks and the lump in my throat that was restricting me when sobbing. For now anyway.
