Chapter 3

One week later

My mom continually shakes me saying "Mackenzie we can't be late get up." I look at my alarm clock 9:30. I had an hour to get ready. My mom left my room and I got out of bed. I looked at myself in the mirror I still had tear stains from the night before. I go into the bathroom and take a nice cold shower.

When I get out of the shower I wrap a towel around myself and walk back into my room. I open my closet and look at my wardrobe I start going threw my closet. I find a black t-shirt and a mini black skirt. I change into it and look into the mirror. I felt like I was going to cry.

My mom knocked on to my door and told me we were leaving now. I nodded my head. We headed into her car and we drove off.

I was standing there in front of her. She was laying down in her casket in a nice light pink dress. I looked at her an started crying I was standing in front of Ashley's body.

I stood there for 5 more minutes and just stared at her lifeless body. Tears were streaming down my cheeks. I decided to go sit down. Her mom got up to podium and started speaking about Ashley. I didn't pay much attention and just slouched in my chair. I stared at the picture of Ashley until my mom tapped my shoulder and told me "it's time for the burial." I nodded showing no emotion at all. "Honey are you okay? You know we can talk about it?" my mom said very concerned. "Mom. I'm fine" I said.

There Ashley was getting risen into her grave. Tears streaming down my face I jumped on to Ashley's casket and yelled "It was all my fault Ashley don't go! Ashley!" I cried. I was carried off by Ashley's dad and I was sat back into a chair. I watched as the casket was in the grave. People started to stand up and leave. My mom was behind my chair and she tapped on my shoulder "Time to go." she said. I stood up and we both made are way to the car. We didn't talk the drive home.

We got into are apartment and I sat on the couch and started watching T.V. "Do you want to order pizza for dinner Mackenzie?" She asked. I nodded, but then her phone started ringing she looked at it and groaned. "I have to take this it's work." she said and walked out of the room. I thought about how I could be with Ashley an I had just the plan. My mom walked back into the room and said "That was work, I have to go in right away. I love you order pizza if you would like money on counter bye." She walked out of the door.

I changed my clothes into shorts and at shirt and walked out of the apartment and into the elevator. I hit a button and stand against the wall of the elevator. I get to the top of the apartment building I could hear the cars going fast as usual and the smell of outdoors. I get out my phone and text my mom. I start typing her that I love her and I will be in a better place and I send it.

I stand on the ledge of the apartment building looking down at the ground and how high I am. I was about to jump but feel and hand connect with mine. I look behind me....
