chapter two.
✦✦✦
Hyemin opened the door to her apartment, which she shared with her little brother. She left the keys on the small table next to the door, and took off her shoes, walking to the living room.
"Taehyungie? I'm home." The girl said, as she searched for her little brother around the apartment, to find him in his bedroom, smiling at his phone like an idiot. The young girl seemed to know that kind of smile all too well.
The boy just looked up at his older sister and his smiled widened. She raised an eyebrow, smirking, as she asked Taehyung the reason of the smile drawn through is face's features, despite the fact that she could already tell what it was. Or actually, who it was.
"I'm just talking to Jungkook." The boy answered, a ounce of happiness could be found in his voice, and a soft shade of pink covered his cheeks at the mention of the brunette's name. Hyemin rolled her eyes playfully, her assumption was right. He always reacted like that when someone mentioned Jungkook, making Hyemin wonder how can he hang out with Jungkook without ending up like a tomato.
You could find a spark of happiness in his eyes every time Taehyung spoke about Jungkook. His face would light up at the mention of his name, his cheeks would turn a light shade of pink. Every time Jungkook wasn't at school, Taehyung would worry so much he wouldn't even be able to focus on the lessons, and he would always go to the Min's house to check up on Jungkook, and he would be the first person to hand him the notes or homework the teachers gave out when he wasn't there. Every time
He got slightly offended at his sister's eye roll, understanding what she was thinking. "So, where were you?" Taehyung asked, crossing his arms. He perfectly knew where she has been, but he just wanted to tease her for that. That's his job as a little brother after all.
"I was just hanging out with Yoongi." The girl shrugged as she laid next to Taehyung on the bed. The young boy looked at his older sister, raising an eyebrow and smirking.
"You hang out a lot with him. Are you guys dating or something?"
Hyemin choked on her own saliva, as her face transformed into a cherry. She quickly sat up, coughing, her younger brother laughing so hard he started squeaking. After Hyemin had calmed down a bit, she used her little energy left to glare at her younger brother, since she spent all of her energy getting embarrassed and on choking. Something oddly usual for her.
"No I'm not! He's my best friend, that's all!" But she knew perfectly that wasn't all. Not even near that. It's around time for her to admit that she loved him ever since they met. They had a long, strong friendship ever since.
Of course, everyone gets in fights. There was a time, back in third grade, in which Yoongi distanced himself from Hyemin, because his friends judged him for being best friends with a girl. Hyemin got mad, and after a small discussion, they stopped talking. Those friends eventually left, and Hyemin, still feeling affection towards Yoongi, was there.
. . .
A little kid -about nine years old- sat in the corner of the playground, hugging his knees close to his chest, hiding his face behind them. All the other kids ignored him, and kept playing, running around, screaming and laughing. A curious pair of hazel eyes didn't take long to see him, and the owner of those eyes completely forgot about her discussion with Yoongi when she noticed his shoulders shaking, and could hear his sniffling and sobbing quietly, the faint screams of the kids around making it almost impossible to hear.
Hyemin quickly ran to him, and gently patted his shoulder. The boy looked up at her, and quickly hid his face again once he recognized who was smiling at him so fondly through his teary eyes. He had no right to talk to her, and didn't deserve her comfort. He was really rude, and hurt her feelings, so he was a bit clueless of why she was even there.
"Yoongi? What's wrong?" The soft voice of the little girl asked, and the it felt like the rest of the kids on that playground disappeared, their screams and laughs ceased, and Yoongi's attention was all drawn to the girl next to him.
The young boy decided to be completely honest.
"I want to die."
Certain question immediately popped up in her mind once she heard those words, more curious than worried, thanks to her innocence and obliviousness.
"Then are you an angel?" The young girl asked, confusing the black-haired boy next to her.
Yoongi frowned. "What do you mean?" That question made little Hyemin chuckle and shake her had, as if the answer was the most obvious thing in the entire universe.
"My mom said that when there's a person that wants to die, it means that they are a fallen angel." Hyemin started explaining. "They don't like how cold and cruel the human world is, and they want to go back to heaven, to their home. Because they miss how peaceful and nice it was there." The little girl smiled sweetly.
"Those kids hurt you because they're ignorant. They are like devils that crawled out of hell. All of the stupid kids at this school did. They just hurt an angel like you because they're jealous of how nice and kind-hearted you are. Devils envy angels, and want to hurt them to be superior. You shouldn't listen to them, they don't deserve your angel tears, and you don't deserve to be hurt like this."
The young boy was flustered by her answer, and one thought was flooding his mind, but he knew he couldn't say it, even though he wanted to let her know.
He wanted her to know that the only fallen angel there, was her.
. . .
"Alright, if you end up dating in a couple of months, I'm going to yell 'I told you' a million times, because I know you hate it, and because I told you!" And with those words, Kim Taehyung's immature ass left the room, leaving Hyemin confused.
In the end, he was right. They fought, and she always denied these kind of statements, but at the end of the day they both knew that Hyemin was head over heels for Yoongi. Taehyung had told her to tell him ever since he was able to speak, but he didn't know how their friendship would completely fall apart because of that, how dangerous and risky that was, and how much of a coward his noona was. Taehyung thought of Hyemin as some sort of goddess, fearless and powerful, but that was not it. She was very far away from that, and she was also scared of disappointing her little brother, who was way too precious to her.
