Love Me chapter2

“So… Jade how do you feel now that you will go to university?” Dr. Seuss asked me as I sat at the armchair in front of his office .

“Well I am pretty excited and I want to start a new fresh beginning without all the stress I had all those years and be more carefree!” I said to him with an enthusiastic smile.

Well, this is what I said at the others, but deep inside me I always knew that I won’t change. This is what I said the first year at high school and the second one and the third one… Now that I think about it I was always the same me.

THE SAME FCKING GIRL!

The one that was walking fast from one class to the other with her hair down trying to hide herself as much, as possible from the other student, so that they wouldn’t see her face and call her names because she was “ugly” and “she could never be as beautiful as the others.”

The same girl that everyone made fun of, behind her back or even in front of her.

The girl that studied hours, but never raised her hand because of the laughs and murmurs.

The girl that most days after school would lock herself in her room and cry for hours.

At that time, I was crying so much that Dr. Seuss had come besides me offering me a pack of tissues and comforting me.

 Back at school,  I wasn’t into essays and this king of things, but I always had a passion for Math. That’s why I ended up studding Applied Mathematics at one of the best London’s universities.

“Ok, I feel better now.” I said still sobbing a little. Then, I remembered that I had to stop being weak so I hid my feelings with a straight expressionless face and resume talking.

“The only thing that concerns me is that I still haven’t found an apartment and I don’t know if there will be anything that I can afford…” I trailed off….

I was really concerned,  because my family hadn’t the best financial capacity… Who I am kidding? My family never had enough money since my father left.

My father…

He is not my freaking father! He left us so he could work in Paris, when I was little, where they offered him a very good job with really good money. From then on, he visited my mother, my brother and me once a month.

My mum is pretty much a role model for me. She raised me and my brother alone.

One day when my mother decided to surprise my father by visiting him, she was faced with him shirtless and a fcking 23 years old girl with him. He is like 51 years old! WHAT THE FCK? Then, he didn’t even try to apologize  to my mum he just said that she was too “fat for him and he had to satisfy his needs.” The problem was that we lived from our dad salary so, after the divorce we passed rough times untill my brother became a surgery doctor…

I REALLY HATE MY FATHER. AND I DON’T CARE IF IT’S WRONG. I SIMPLY HATE HIM.

“Why don’t you share an apartment… A lot of kids do that and it’s more economic as they share the bills…” he said, but before I could respond he interrupted me.

“Actually I know someone that is searching for a roommate at London, but I don’t know if the apartment is near your college… why don’t you check it out…?” he said as he handed me a small paper with an address and a telephone.

This was a pretty good idea actually…. This way I will know someone there from day one and I don’t like the feeling when I am alone at home. Probably because I am a scaredy cat  and I think that kidnappers are spying our house...

I will sure give it a try…
