“tum hi mera ishq ho, tum hi mera junoon..” his words.. just spoken with poignant convenience. I have always wondered what’s in him that I always imagined myself beside him.
“MADHUBALA..” my mom called, distracting me from the promo of my favorite actor’s new film Ek Ishq Ek Junoon on TV..
“coming mamma” I said moving from screen reluctantly. New film promotions keep on airing for every two minutes on different music channels isn’t it? I convinced myself and went to the kitchen.
“Beta, it’s getting late for lunch. Help me with the cutting of vegetables” she asked.
“Now do you need to request?” I asked with hands on my hips, “if I wont do this then who’ll do. Infact I’d say I’ll cook today. And my sweet mamma will be on a holiday” I said being ever bubbly and holding her shoulders from back.
“but..”
“no if no but..” I pushed her gently out of the kitchen with a giggle.
I picked up onions and chopper knife. Tears started flowing from my eyes even before cutting it. Oops sorry my onion, I have bought you for 40rs a kilo only to murder you, trust me.
“Madhu.. no nautanki.. please make it fast” mom shouted from bedroom.
Mother! She indeed knows everything. She remained a junior artist but my goal is set. To become an actress and act opposite RK. My hero.
I was just starting my work when I heard a soft piano tune, strings of violin followed. My heart was on a marathon at that moment as I left my work only to run towards my hall. I stopped in my tracks as I saw him. Dil Ibadat kar raha hai dhadkane meri sun, tujhk main karloon haasil lagi hai yehi dhun.
I sat on the sofa again. It’s my favorite song. The beats, the setting, the soulful singer, the deep lyrics and ofcourse RK. My RK. Everything is just perfect in this song. Myriad of emotions on his face, that draw one towards his him ad trap in the chimera of his character. Who needs a prince charming when the vampire in silver Volvo.. oops I mean in black Mercedes drives crazy. Abhay is the character which he hasn’t enacted but lived.
-“No.. not again!!” my mom threw a pillow at me. “You left the work in the middle and on top of it can’t you hear the bell?” she scolded.
-“huh, did it ring?” I asked apprehensively.
She shook her head. Impossible! What should I do with this girl! She must have muttered. Definitely I was. It was my father.
-“I have been rung the bell thrice” he said as soon as she opened the door.
-“papa!” I went and hugged him. He looked tired as I ran and got a glass of water for him. Indeed a cameraman’s job is tiresome.
-“Madhu, look what I have got for you?” he said excited.
-“what Papa” I asked coz I his surprises are always worth it.
He opened his bag and took out an envelope. I took them and wondered what is it. As I opened it my eyes grew wider. My jaw dropped and my mind froze at the moment.
“in..invita..tion fffor..” I stammered and then looked at Papa. I hugged him tight.
“Invitation for RK’s new film premiere!!!” I shouted. “a-w-w-w. awww!!! Thanks Papa!”
The premiere was in the evening. Catching RK’s film ek ishq ek junoon on the premiere was a dream come true. Honestly I could never sleep properly if I don’t see his movies on the first day. But after his last film pyar ki ye ek kahani which was a blockbuster, all the tickets were completely booked on the first day. But now I don’t need any ticket!! I have pass for the premiere!!
