Winter. Winter is cold and freezing and I'm here all alone with no one to keep me warm. Inside my lonely home, I'm all alone in my house, watching the children play in the snow, people iceskating on ice, and even couples making a snowman together.

I stare at them as a tear slowly fell in my cheeks, seeing their smiles made me cry. It's because I have no peers or friends, no parents, and even no lover.

"I'm already on my 30's." I chuckled sadly while wiping my tears. "Yet I didn't have time to enjoy my life." I sniffed and stood up from bed then went straight to the bathroom to wash my face.

I already mentioned that I don't have any friends, parents, or lover, but I have someone who keeps me warm and protected when I was little. That's my grandma, a warm-hearted and protective guardian. She fed me well, protect me from harm, and even took care of me just like how parents usually do.

But sadly, she died when I was just 11 years old. If you're wondering on where are my parents, I really don't know where they are but they left me when I was a baby. They left me in this house because they said that they don't love me anymore.

Hearing those words hurts, like it's stabbing me in the heart multiple times. But my grandma is the only one who can heal this painful wounds and scars.

I was having a fun childhood before since my grandma is still strong and we played outside, playing with the snow and even made snowmans and snow angels. But when I first studied at the age of 4, my classmates and the other kids are always bullying me. And that made my life hopeless when I heard their words...

They even told me that kids with no parents are monsters. Hearing those words made me angry and frustrated. The bullies also spread rumors about me and ended up the students avoiding me in school until highschool.

Flashback

While the school bell is ringing, 4-year-old me went out of the school and saw my grandma waiting for me while sitting on a bench. As I saw my grandma, I ran to her and hugged her tightly while crying. My grandma looked at me and gently pulled my head for me to look at her.

We looked each other in each other's eyes and I could see my grandma's eyes, full of worry. She slid her hand on my cheek and caressed her gently wgile wiping my flowing tears. "What happened? Did something happened to you?" My grandma asked me as I nodded and hiccuped.

"Yes, grandma." I softly sobbed while my grandma let me sit beside her to talk. "What is it, sweety?" She asked me.

"I got bullied again, grandma." I sobbed as my grandma hugged me tightly while rubbing my small back.

"What did they say to you?" My grandma asked me in a soft voice while fixing my pigtails. "They said that kids like me with no parents are monsters." I replied while sniffing. "Am I ugly, grandma? Am I a monster?" I asked my grandma as she shook her head. "Of course not, sweetie. You're not ugly." My grandma answered as she wiped my tears while smiling.

"Don't listen to them, hmm? You are actually the most beautiful girl." She cheered me up with a smile and looked at my face. "You look like your mother, Joohyun. Beautiful and pretty. You also have your father's lips." She chuckled as she kissed my forehead. Then I looked at her and smiled. "Thank you, grandma." I thanked her and hugged her tightly.

"I love you, Irene." My grandma whispered while stroking my hair. "I love you too, grandma." I replied with my face full of tear stains.
