(Drew is 4 and Max is 5 in this chapter)

"Mom can we go to the park?!" Drew pulls on the hem of his mother's skirt. "Sure, why not, sounds fun, I'll get your father if you go and get your shoes on little man." Drew's mother bends down a little bit and taps her son's nose then he rushes to the shoe rack and slips on his crocks.

"Ready to go little man?" Drew's mother asks as her son nods his head fast excited.

"Do you want some ice cream?" Drew's father asked as he pointed to the ice cream truck parked on the other side of the road. "Yeah yeah yeah, I love ice cream!" Drew yelled spinning in a circle. "Will you be ok if we leave you over here alone?" Drew's mother asked pointing to the park. "Uh-yeah!" Drew nods as his parents start walking over to the ice cream truck.

Drew walks over to a group of boys playing in the sandbox. "Hey, can I play with you guys?" Drew asked as he picked up a toy. "No, who even said you can be here, go away." a little boy snaped ripping the toy out of Drew's hand. "Ok, I-I," Drew studered. "Just go!" the little boy yelled at Drew.

Drew ran off to the swings and sat there for a minute.

"Hey, what are you doing alone?" a little boy with overalls on asked poking Drew on the nose playfully. "They yelled at me, their mean." Drew pointed to the little boy from a minute ago, he sat there like a king.

"Then you can play with me!?" The little boys eyes grew wide with excitement. Drew's eyes widen as well. "Really?! Yeah, I need a cool friend like you!" The boys laugh and run off to the jungle gym.

Drew stopped playing and stood there with a confused look on his face. "Hey, why did you stop playing?" Max went up to Drew and poked his nose playfully while tilting his head to the left. "I don't know your name?" Drew said as the confused look melted from his face into a smile and he playfully poked Max on the nose too. "Oh yeah, well i'm Max!" Max held out his hand excitedly. "I'm Drew!" Drew shook Max's hand because last year his mother told him that was a gentleman thing to do. "Cool, can we go back to playing?" Max asked as he stepped back because they were playing tag. Drew quickly taps Maxs arm and runs.

"Drew?! We've got your ice cream!" The boys ran over to Drew's parents.

"Hi, who are you little man?" Drew's mother taps the young boys nose. "Hey! That's my nose!" The little boy giggles. "I'm Max!" He holds out his hand like he did with Drew. "Aww you are like a little man, nice to meet you Max, I'm Drew's mom, where are your parents?" Drew's mother shakes Max's hand. "Their!" Max points to a couple with a young girl in the mother's lap. "Do you mind if we meet them because I think you two will become great friends?." Drew's mother asks as he holds a hand on Max's back. "Sure!" Max takes Drew's mother's hand and races over to meet his parents. The parents talk as the boys play they exchange numbers so their boys can have playdates.
