Piers wasn't feeling well. And he hated that.

Sure, he seemed to have a bad habit of getting sick around this time of year, but this time felt different. Something was off.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Susanna asked him from across the dinner table. "You've not been eating very much as of late."

"Yeah, I'm okay." He responded, clearly not. He felt sick to his stomach.

She got up and walked towards him. "Are you sure?" She placed a hand on his forehead, checking for a fever.

He swatted her away. "I'm just a little under the weather."

He gazed at him unconvinced. "For how long?"

He flicked his eyes away from her. "Not long."

"That doesn't answer my question."

"....About a week."

"A week?!"

Before she could beginning yelling at him, he interrupted. "Look, I'm fine. You know I get sick in winter. It's no big deal."

"But for a week? You didn't even tell me!" This certainly wasn't okay in her eyes. "We need to get you to a hospital."

He wasn't afraid or anything. That would be stupid. He was just slightly nervous that something could be horribly wrong.

"You know this isn't that big of a deal, right?" Susanna asked from the side of his bed. "You'll be out cold the entire time anyway. You won't feel a thing."

"What makes you think that I'm worried?" Piers asked, not taking his eyes away from his phone.

"I guess I just know you well enough." She laughed, sitting down beside him. "The worst thing about
this is that you won't be to talk while they are performing it. Think you can go that long without arguing with someone?"

He looked up, narrowing his eyes.

"Oh, come on! I'm just teasing!"

When he didn't stop glaring, her face softened.

"Hey," She began. "it's going to okay."

He took a deep breath. "I know that. Just...this is still a surgery. What if they find out that something is really wrong? What if it is a big deal?"

She reached out and touched his arm. "Then I'll be there every step of the way to make sure you get better."

He smiled slightly. As much as he wanted to believe that everything was going to be okay, he still had his doubts.

"Mr. Morgan?" The doctor asked as he stepped into the room. "Are you ready?"

He glanced back at Susanna, who smiled and nodded at him. "Yeah."

He couldn't quite remember where he was, but he knew it wasn't his home. He rubbed at his face in an attempt to make the fog that clouded his head lessen.

Still dazed, he looked around the room at his surroundings.

"How are you feeling?"

He forced his eyes to focus on the direction the voice came from and saw the one thing he had hoped to see.

"Hey, Susanna." He said, groggily. His throat felt sore and he cough slightly.

"You didn't answer my question."

"I think I'm okay. My throat hurts and I'm tired, but I'm okay."

She smiled at him taking his hand in her own. "Glad to hear it, love."

"What did I tell you? Everything is fine!" She grinned, driving him back home.

"Yeah, yeah. I knew everything would be." His voice was still scratchy and slightly slurred from being under sedatives.

"Whatever you say, dear."

Pulling into his driveway, she immediately jumped out of the car to run over and get his door for him.

Helping him to his feet and getting him inside, she sat down next to him on the couch. "Can I get you anything?"

Everything was still every so slightly foggy, and his head was pounding. Reaching out and pulling her close, he mumbling, "Just you."

"You already have me."
