I'm a Youtuber, no I won't give you my username, and no I'm not a fan of Jake Paul or that Cash Me Ousside bitch. I've been watching Shane Dawson and Jenna Marbles religiously since the fifth grade. They introduced me to the concept of taking a video of yourself acting like another person, and they gave me the confidence to try to do it myself.
In the simpler times, I used my father's laptop webcam to make my own stupid videos on Windows Moviemaker. I would write a script, dress up as one person, film their lines, then dress up as a different person and film that. Then, I'd take the videos and put them in order, cutting them where need be. I was my own personal editor.
A few years later, I got my very own iPad, which came with iMovie. I started making even more complex videos with sound effects and cool transitions. Never did I ever think about creating my own channel to upload these videos of me in my bedroom acting like a spaz.
I got my first phone for my thirteenth birthday, meaning I had a number way after all my friends did. My parents had picked out an Android, which I wasn't overly excited about, yet still very thankful for, since now I had a way to contact people.
A Gmail was created, and with that came the responsibility of a Youtube channel. I could finally subscribe to my two idols who I had relied on since day one. Come to think of it, I guess the reason I swear so fucking much is because they both didn't censor out their videos.
Christmas came around and I got my very own laptop, camera, and tripod. I downloaded a few games and decided to try out the most wonderful, free screen recorder there is: Bandicam.
To be completely honest, Bandicam was total shit. But my cute thirteen-year-old ass didn't care, I was making Minecraft videos with my best friend. We were making our own skins and playing mini games on different servers.
One day, I was playing hunger games by myself on a random server. The countdown went off and everyone sprinted towards the chests in the middle of the circle, and I remember very clearly that I grabbed a wooden axe and sticks.
I ran to the nearest cave to hide, and I crouched to make my username disappeare. A player with the name WildSpartanz was approaching me, and I got ready to kill him with the axe. Instead, he backed up and hid just like I was. He must've seen my name tag because he typed a hello to my username in the chat
Confused, I sent back a short 'hi'. What could he want? I was trying to win this game. I kept my focus and my eyes on the people around me, but I glanced back at the chat every so often.
"Would you like to be in one of my you tube videos ?" he had typed back. I smiled back at my screen and said yes in all caps.
"Okay," he typed. "Meet me in the creative world lobby by the vines and we can start."
After that, I learned this kid's name was Brandon and he was two years older than me. We became really good friends, even though we lived over two-thousand miles apart.
Over the years, we each created our own Discord account, and he introduced me to more and more of his friends. We each had growing channels and branched out to make different types of videos.
All of our friends became extremely comfortable around each other and knew how to bounce off one anothers sense of humor. In no time, we were making commentary videos on reddit posts and other unusual things we can find to make fun of.
But enough with the backstory, let's get into more recent days. :)
