Yoongi had been about five when he met his soul mate. Not that he truly understood at the moment, only that the smaller boy he dreams of is holding a Kumamon bear. He thought that was so cool because he actually loves Kumamon and was actually wearing his new favorite pajamas! Kumamon pajamas, of course.

They were fast friends. The smaller boy had excitedly told him all about his new bear. Even at his young age, Yoongi understood that this was something special. They met up in their dreams as ofter as they could over the years. Their connection deepening and growing as they got older. Always there when the other needed them.

When Yoongi almost ten, something big happened that changed his soul mate. He had been home sick that day and had fallen asleep early. When he connected with the younger boy, as they always did, he knew something was wrong.

His soul mate was so sad and so scared. His little heart hurt to see him like this. He immediately rushed to hug him and hold him tight, whispering in his ear that he was there and always would be. He had woken up crying and not fully understanding why his heart hurt, as well as his head. His mother had explained that something must have happened to his soul mate and he was feeling some of his pain, emotional and physical.

The next time they came together, his friend was so sad and refused to talk to him. He didn't know why, but he would never speak a word again when they were together, and the younger boy seemed so painfully shy.

He vowed then that no matter what it took, he would find him and do everything he could to protect him and make him happy again. In the meantime he would just be there to hold him and comfort him, he promised himself he wouldn't make him more upset, that he would always be a safe place for his little friend so he hid any pain or sadness, or hurt away whenever they were together and focused on helping his soul mate find his smile again.

As they grew up, so did their insecurities. His soul mate stared having panic attacks when he was thirteen and Yoongi was fifteen. He would even have them when they were together

It scared Yoongi when it happened the first time. His soul mate would start shaking uncontrollably. Then the silent scream would happen. His mouth open wide but no sound would come, his eyes wide in terror, tears streaming down his pale face. Eyes focused somewhere far away, on something Yoongi couldn't see. He absolutely hated that he couldn't see what the younger was focusing on, what scared him so. He couldn't fight what he couldn't see.

He started researching what had happened and how to help someone whe they are having a panic attack. What he didn't understand, he asked about. He needed to do anything he could to help his soul mate.

So, when it happened again, he was ready and talked him down and was ready to hold him afterwards. He was so excited that his voice seemed to pull him away from the monsters and drive them away.

By the time Yoongi was a senior in high school, his soul mate had found dancing, again, and he had found music. Dancing seemed to be a key for his soul mate, a way to finally communicate. Yoongi would write and play songs and the younger would dance .

He realized, while he was watching the other one night, that the way he felt for him had changed somewhere along the way. He had always loved him. He couldn't wait until they would finally meet in person and he could finally hold him, really hold him not just in their dreams.

A couple of years later, he was at college, studying music. He had been so busy in his studio trying, and failing, to finish his song he was working on. The studio he was in was not his normal one, but that building was closed tonight because a pipe had burst. This meant Yoongi sat in a new studio down the hall from the practice room the dance majors used.

Someone was working late, like him, and it was very frustrating. Whoever it was, must of thought that they were along, because their music was so loud Yoongi could hear it despite having having his headphones on and his won music playing.

He decided he was going to go ask the dancer if they would mind turning it down some, he needed to stretch his legs anyway.

He made sure his hat was covering his face and neck, his glasses and face mask were in place. He hated it, but the consequences for not having them was far worse then the extra time it took to adjust them. He left the studio and followed the music. It was really a great song, he hated to have to ask them to turn it down. But he really needed to be able to concentrate on his own song.

He found the room the music was coming from. As he opened the door, he froze, absolutely stunned. There in front of him completely lost in his dance, was a face he had caught himself searching  crowds for everywhere went, his whole life.

His soul mate was really truly in the same room he was in Finally, he had found him. "Oh. My. God!", he murmured. Just then, his phone rang annoyingly in his pocket. Glancing at it, he noticed his professor's name. He really had to take the call, but having to walk away after just finding his soul mate was painful.

He decided to go take the call and come back. As he walked out the door, he noticed his imaginary friend start fading around the edges and he smiled as he answered the phone.

What he didn't see as he walked back to his studio, was his soul mate look up towards the door. Confusion painting his exhausted eyes. Did he just hear his soul mate in the room with him? Not his imaginary friend, because he had been looking at him, but like his actual soul mate? He would recognized that voice anywhere.

He quickly got up and ran to the door, only to find an empty hallway. Thinking he was just tired, he packed his things and decided he needed sleep. When Yoongi came back, he found an empty studio. Gone was the music and with it the opportunity to meet his soul mate, officially. Finally be able to put a name with the face hi has always loved.

He was disappointed, but he knew it wouldn't be the last time. He left looking forward to that time. Something inside him falling into place and finally feeling settled for the first time in his life, at the thought that his soul mate was close. He just needed to have a little more patience, just a little while longer.

He was ecstatic that fate had finally decided it was time to bring them together. He stayed a while longer and finished his song, having found some motivation after his discovery. He could comeback and polish it up putting the finishing touches on it later, right now he just wanted to climb into his bed and sleep.

He was so tired, he knew he was feeling a combination of his soul mate's exhaustion as well as his won and made a note to tell him not push himself so much the next time they spent time together.
