5 DAYS BEFORE
I knew it was going to happen in the near future. The earthquakes were getting worse, Old Faithful hasn't been faithful. I had been interested in the Yellowstone Supervolcano for years, of course, the scientists would never listen to a seventeen-year-old girl from The Dalles, Oregon. Sure, no one listened to me, they thought I was crazy. There were a few people that didn't think I was crazy. But that's enough on that. My name is Katelynn Summers I was walking to class and a kid almost ran into me. (That's Emery Finnington, my best friend, my partner in crime, my other half) for some reason I've never called Finnington by his first name, I didn't even know his first name was Emery until freshman year and I've known him since we were three. He's one of four people that don't think I'm crazy. The other three people we'll meet later. On to class, "Finnington did you even do your homework?"
"No."
"You aren't going to pass."
"Well if your predictions are right, no one will pass. Not even the seniors."
"Not if they aren't predictions. It's going to happen. All the signs are there. They've felt the earthquakes here. Those earthquake drills were not drills Finnington."
"How long did you say it was gonna be?"
"Five days."
"Well, we're all screwed."
