Dance Infiltration

Y/n's Pov
I was walking down a cobblestone path on my way to the dance doing a final check to make sure i looked good before entering the building the dance was being held in and to be greeted by Yang.

Yang: "Dad, you made it!"

I smiled at Yang seeing the dress she was wearing.

Y/n: "Of course I did, I wouldn't miss this, and might i add what a beautiful dress your wearing."

Yang then came up and hugged me.

Yang:"Thanks I picked it myself, and thanks for helping with Blake you had a big impact on her decision on coming to the dance, and I know that your not really here with anyone but if you want ill be your plus one for the dance."

Y/n:"Thank you Yang but I think I'll be okay plus this is your dance not mine I had that a while ago."

I started to feel a little down just thinking about those times but still showing a positive face with Yang.

Yang:"Nope I'm sticking with you during this dance can't have my dad not doing anything when we should all be having a fun time. But Ill have to join you later though because I promised blake a dance."

Y/n:"That's fine and your very stubborn you know that but i guess you get that from your mother."

Yang chuckled at that as she wrapped her arm around mine as we approached the main floor, there were children everywhere as some were dancing whiles some sat at the tables talking. Yang then separated from me as she approached Blake and went to the dance floor with her.

I watched for a minute before wandering around wondering where Ruby was when I spotted her at the punch bowl talking to Jaune. I approached as Jaune walked away with an agitated face and then began talking with my daughter.

Y/n:"I see your hiding amongst the punch bowl."

Ruby:"ya i'm not really used to this stuff im more of a hunt grimm kind of girl you know."

Y/n:*chuckles*"you sounded just like your mother when she had her first dance here. But take in everything you do here, from the littlest task to the biggest hunt because once you graduate from here you'll realise just how big this world is."

Ruby:"wow that was pretty deep"

Y/n:"sorry that tends to happen. Anyways are you here alone?"

Ruby:"yeeaah, again i'm not really one for these kind of things."

Y/n:"Would you like to dance?"
I held out my hand to her as she took it.

Ruby:"sure"

We walked over to the dance floor and danced for a bit it was funny for both of us due to me being rusty and her not knowing how to dance.

Ruby:"hey dad."

Y/n:"yeah?"

Ruby:"if you feel like it can we talk sometime... about you know...."

Y/n:"you want to talk about your mother I understand. But like you said though we'll talk later. We can even bring Yang along but for now enjoy the night."

Ruby:"ok. Thank you I know how hard it is for you."

We dance for a bit longer until Yang came over and switched places with Ruby.

Yang:"So what were you two talking about?"

Y/n:"we were discussing about me telling her about her mother and if you want I could talk about yours too."

Yang seemed a little hesitant and a bit angry but she agreed to it.
