Chapter seven ~ Leaving

Two days later Ava was finally let go, she was in her tent with another girl named Violet. Violet was cleaning Ava's wounds the best she could. Ava winched in pain a few times. "I'm done, I clean them the best I could." Ava nodded slowly, she had bruises all over her back. She had cut wounds on her back as well. "I'll leave you be so you can get changed" Violet got up and walked out the tent. Closing it behind her. Ava opened her hand to see another forget-me-not she smiled. She heard rustling behind her. She tried to look behind her but couldn't her back was in too much pain. She could barely move. The back of her tent opened up. "Ava? Are you in here?" It was Lincoln, Ava quickly tried to find a shirt " Yeah just give me a second." Lincoln walked into the tent and saw Ava's bruises and wounds "how did you get these?" Ava looked down "by saving you." Lincoln walked in front of her and looked her in her eyes. "How?" Ava looked at her for a brief moment "after I let you go I made it look like you had left after I fell asleep. But they didn't believe me. They tied me up like they did to you and..... did this to me" Ava said looking at the flower "after two days let me go so here I am" Lincoln put his hand under Ava's chin and lifted it up. He kissed her forehead "let's get you out of here" Lincoln walked to the back of the tent and opened it. Ava slowly turned around "how I can barely move" " don't worry about that." Lincoln reaches his hand out as the front of the tent opened. Lincoln quickly pulled out his knife. It was Violet. "Hey don't worry I'm going to help." Ava looked at Violet " how do I know it's not a trap." Violet placed a bag down with Ava's things "I wouldn't have gotten this ready then. Everyone is already talking about kicking out of camp, if you want to save a grounder then you'll be one" Ava looked at Lincoln and nodded. He put down his knife and grabbed the bag. "I'll keep an eye out, you just get out of here." Violet walked out the tent and Lincoln grabbed Ava's hand. "Come on" Ava smiled and followed Lincoln the best she could. Once away from the camp Lincoln took Ava back to his cave and treated her wounds there. Ava laid on her back and winched in pain. "Sorry, Ava I know it hurts" Ava giggled "no no your fine Lincoln" Lincoln finished, he stood up and began to put things away. Ava tried to sit up but Lincoln noticed and laid Ava back down. "I can't lay here and do nothing." Lincoln sat down next to her. "Yes you can and you will, your back needs time to heal." Ava laid there in silence for a few minutes. "I have to get some things for you to help your back heal faster. Do you think you'll be fine." Ava smiled, "Yea I'll be fine. Don't worry about me." Lincoln bent down and kissed Ava's forehead and smiled. He stood up and got his things, and left the cave. Ava signed and looked around. "What do I do now?" Ava slowly fell asleep. Hours later Lincoln came back. "Ava, I'm back". Lincoln walked into the cave but saw no one there. "Ava?" Lincoln looked around the cave but couldn't find her. He dropped his things and ran out of the cave. Once out, he was stopped by Bellamy, Clark, Raven and a few others. "Listen here grounder, we know you have her. Hand her over." Clark said with her arms crossed. Lincoln looked at them in confusion. 'They don't know where she is, then she isn't back at the camp. Where is she?' Lincoln looked down. Clark pulled out a knife and raised it to Lincoln throat. "I'm not playing games." Just then an arrow shot by Lincoln dodged it. Everyone began to look around. More arrows began to be shot, hitting a few of the kids. "Take cover." The kids began to hide as Lincoln stood there. Once all the kids moved Lincoln ran towards where the arrows where being shot from. He met up with other grounders "Nyko," Lincoln hugged him. "Have you seen a girl around here. She was one of the sky people but they casted her out." Nyko nodded and pointed east. Lincoln nodded and started to head east. He was a few miles away and hit the river. Ava was standing by the water. She took a step in. "Ava No!" Lincoln began to run towards the water. Ava was too far in for him to get to her. "Ava! Get out the water!" Lincoln watched Ava. "Ava!" Ava stood at the edge of the shallow water. A large snake that lived in the water began to swim towards her. Lincoln jumped in the water and grabbed Ava, he took her back to the shore and got out the water. When he looked back the snake didn't go into the shallow water. Lincoln looked at Ava and saw she was asleep. "Ava wake up." He began to shake her lightly. Ava slowly opened her eyes. "Lincoln, I heard something outside the cave, I went to go check it out but I didn't see anything. I saw blood and thought you got hurt. So I followed it, but.... I-I don't remember anything after that" Lincoln patted her head. "It's alright." Lincoln helped her to her feet and walked her to the other grounders
