"Oh sorry," said a young girl as she bumped into a young man around her age, causing him to drop his papers.
"No worries," he says with a smile, "I should have been watching where I was walking." He helped her collect the papers from the floor.
"Are you new to campus? I don't think I've seen you here," he asks curiously.
"Yeah. It's my first day. I'm Jade Hunter," Jade replies holding out his stuff as she gets up. She dusts herself off while looking at him for a reply.
"Oh right, I'm Axel James, at your service, " he says, playfully bowing. Jade chuckles, grabs her phone and hands it to him. Axel looks slightly confused and Jade tells him to add his number, giggling.
"We should hang out sometime, after all, I'm new to town."
"How about today at 4?" he asks, handing back her phone.
"Yeah, I can make 4," she beams as she checks her schedule.
Axel looks at her with a smile, "I'll meet you at the front of campus, ok?" Jade glances at him and takes her sweet time answering.
"It's a date," she says, tipping on her toes, kissing Axel's cheek and walking away smugly. Axel stands there stunned, thinking, "See you later, I guess."

That afternoon, Axel and Jade meet at the reception and walk down to the Tempest Cafe, near the edge of the campus where they have a coffee and get to know each other. They lost track of time until their waitress came over and told them that it was closing time.
Axel walked Jade back to her apartment and was surprised to discover that they lived in the same building. Jade asked Axel if he wanted to hang out again, and the Tempest tradition was born.
