Rain pattered on a warm midsummer night as Violet Luna Sparks tossed and turned in her bed.
More specifically, her black sleeping bag on the bottom bunk of a bunk bed with extremely uncomfortable mattresses.
Violet clearly couldn't see much, considering that the cabin she was staying in with seven other girls was dimly lit, and she was pretty much blind without her glasses.
She couldn't see the tall figure silently walking across the cabin, heading for a certain other bottom bunk.
She couldn't see the figure bend down and pick up a sleeping girl.
As Violet faded off to sleep, she didn't hear the girl's muffled screams.
