The next morning, Viola walked out her room looking pale. When she got to the kitchen, she found Hunter and Kimbo waiting for breakfast. 'They're similar' she thought to herself. She sighed and Hunter frowned. "Hey I'm hungry." Viola crossed her arms. "When did I become your cook? Aren't you supposed to be back in your world right now?" "I have to confirm something first" he replied. "And that is....?"

Kimbo scratched his bowl, trying to get his master's attention. Viola caressed him and poured dog food in his bowl. "I guess we can talk about this after breakfast". The young girl opened the fridge and took out a number of ingredients. Curious, the wolf stood beside her observing her every move. "What are you making?" He asked suddenly.
"Pancakes" "what's that?"
Viola looked at him strangely. "What do you eat at home?" " meat." He replied simply. 'Oh I forgot he's a beast...'  Hunter sat down. "Where are your parents?" "Blake and my parents work too much so I sent them on vacation" the young girl stated proudly. "When are they coming back?" "In two weeks."  "I see..."
After the pancakes were ready, Viola placed them carefully on two plates. She added maple syrup and fruits before setting them down on the table. "...I hope you know how to use silverware" Hunter huffed. "Don't take me for a fool. I know at least that much." The girl shrugged and sat down.

They began eating and Viola noticed he was holding the silverware in a strange manner. 'What was I expecting... He's a wolf after all. Although he might look human right now, he must've lived his whole life in his wolf form. At least he knows knives are for cutting and....what is he doing?' Viola thought as she observed the young man struggling to hold a fork. She coughed, catching his attention and held her fork showing him the right way to hold it. Hunter corrected himself swiftly trying to cover his embarrassment.
"We're going to my world after breakfast. We need to ask Elizabeth a lot." Viola nodded. "But what is it that you needed to confirm?" "That'll have to wait"

Once they finished their food, Viola went to her room and took her sweater. She tied her long hair into a ponytail and sighed. 'Am I going to spend the rest of my summer vacation like this?' She stood in front of her mirror. 'At least it's better than staying at home doing nothing' she walked over to her nightstand and took the old book the fish-woman gave her. She looked at it for a long time then opened her closet. After a bit of searching, the young girl found a light blue backpack with a cloud design on the front pocket. She carefully put the book inside along with a few things she thought would be necessary.

Meanwhile, Hunter was waiting in front of her room. He got tired of waiting and decided to knock. "Hey, you done yet?" He asked impatiently. "Almost." The young girl replied. Kimbo stepped in front of Hunter. They glared at each other before Hunter decided to speak. "What is it? Feel as if I'll steal your owner away from you? Heh. That bunny is nothing more than a meal. Once we're done with whatever we're supposed to do, she's meat." He smirked. Kimbo growled at him. He would've attacked him but he felt this strange atmosphere around him that prevents the dog from doing anything.
"Done. Let's go~" Viola sang as she left her room. She looked at Kimbo and caressed him. "I left some food in your bowl. I won't be back in a while so if you get bored or need anything you can go see the neighbor. She needs the company." The girl smiled and followed the wolf.

As they walked through the forest, Viola admired the scenery. It was a hot summer day and the light breeze was refreshing. Suddenly, Hunter turned to Viola. "I forgot to tell you. The time here is different to the time in my world. One day there is equal to one week here"  "I'll keep that in mind.." Viola replied. When they got to the door, Hunter jumped in first. The young girl took out her camera and took a picture before putting the object away and following Hunter.

On the other side, Elizabeth was sitting by a tree near the parallel. It seemed like she was expecting them. She stood up as she saw Hunter jump out the river. He walked up to her "I see you've been waiting for us." "Indeed... Where is Viola?" "Hmm? She was right behind me..." Hunter turned to the river and Viola jumped out. "Oh there you are!" The old woman exclaimed walking towards her. The girl smiled "Hello Elizabeth, have you been waiting for us?" "Yes I was. Let's go to my house. We need to talk." The old woman declared as she walked to her house. The two chosen ones followed her in silence.

Once they reached her house, Elizabeth sat on a rocking-chair in the living room while Viola and Hunter sat on the couch. "I believe you have a lot of questions concerning what you're mission is." Viola nodded. "Hunter must've already explained that beings from your world can't see us." "Yes he has" "good. Now let me tell you the real reason the two kinds fought."

Elizabeth's expression suddenly became very serious. "As you already know, beings from our world would often visit the human world, and vice versa. But one day, as a human was visiting our world, he stole something. He stole an important gem that was so well sealed that even the purest or the strongest couldn't break the seal. After he somehow managed to steal it, he made different types of mutant hybrids and used it for unsettling purposes. He then made an organization that captured and tortured creatures from this world for research purposes. When the humans found out what the gem could do, they became greedy and wanted it for themselves as well. Some of our kind wanted that sort of power too while the wise ones wanted to seal the gem away once again. It all became a big mess and everyone fought for different reasons. It ended up being a big war that resulted in the deaths of many." Elizabeth let out a long sigh before continuing. " the wise wizard couldn't find a way to take the gem back so he sealed the two parallels. Meanwhile, the gem remained lost in the human world."  Viola looked at Elizabeth surprised. "I understand that... but the part I don't understand is what we are supposed to—" Viola was cut off by Elizabeth's hand telling her to stop. "I'm getting there."  Viola put the book on her laps and waited for the rest of the story.

"Like I was saying, humans can't see us anymore because it's been so long that hey consider us mythical creatures or just spirits. Your mission isn't to stop the fight between the two kinds. You are to find that gem and destroy it." "How are we going to find it?" Viola asked. "Well the wizard couldn't find the gem but a man from the thief's organization was actually what you'd call in your world a double agent. He broke the gem and put the shards in different keys which he then scattered around the human world." "That still doesn't answer my question though." "You'll sense it when it's nearby. You are a chosen one after all. You'll know when the time comes." Viola nodded her head slowly. The fish-woman stood up "maybe you should look around for a bit. You haven't really seen how it's like in our world. Hunter, why don't you take Viola to the village?" She asked kindly. Hunter huffed. "Why should I? She can go alone right?" He answered annoyed. Elizabeth glared at him and scolded him until he decided to go.

Outside Elizabeth's house was a forest. The air was so calming and the bird's chirps were nice to hear. Viola took a deep breath and followed Hunter who was already ahead of her. Once the girl caught up to him she chuckled at his irritated expression. "What!? Do you think it's funny? You should be grateful I'm taking some of my time to bring you to the village." He said frowning. "Oh I'm soo sorryyy. Thank you for taking me there when you have such a busy schedule." Viola replied. Hunter rolled his eyes and crossed his arms.
