After waking up stiff necked on the airplane, Lex, Don, and Brady walked out into a large shopping center, unlike one they had ever seen. There were palm trees that they had never seen before and shops of every size. Lex was so in awe of everything she saw. She reached to hold Brady's hand, he accepted her hand and held it gently for a moment till Don walked up.

" I have to take a piss. I'll be back" He said bluntly. Don was a very blunt person.

" Well isn't he straight forward" Lex looked up at Brady. To her, Brady was the most handsome thing. Then she started to blush as she remembered she was holding his hand.

Red hot cheeks turn to red hot pain on her forehead as something cut her and her head band that she got from Dorothea. Lex looked around quickly for the origin of the shot. She then notices that Brady has frozen everyone in the room, or at least all the humans. He was always wanted to make sure humans never noticed us, so he acted quickly.

More shots came Brady and Lex's way. She started to look at them closely. They were like throwing darts, but filled with some kind of liquid, and tied with some kind of hair.. she wished that she could protect her and Brady. Brady may be powerful, but not powerful enough to make a force field and freeze everyone in then room at the same time.

As she thought of a force field, one started to form around her. A clear circle that looked like a shiny lense, formed around Lex but nothing else was in the circle. She was shocked that she had made one, she had never done anything with her powers, she was practically human. Regardless,  she tried to call to Brady to move closer to her into the circle but he couldn't hear her through the barrier. She tried to move closer to him, but as she did, a shot hit the forcefield sparked and hit the next closest object.

Brady.

Lex started to freak as Brady hit the floor. The more unfocused she became, the faster the forcefield came down like melting ice. She knelt next to him and grabbed his hand. He was alive and alert enough to keep all the humans in the room frozen.

''Brady are you OK?" she asked. Then realizing how stupid of a question that was, she started to cry on Brady's shoulder, the one that didn't have a dart in it. She lifted her head and reached for the dart, but Brady grabbed her hand mid-reach.

"Don't Lex, there is poison on it, I can't feel it. Just grab the knife out of my bag and heal me." She did as he asked and grabbed the knife. It wasn't a large knife, it fit well in Lex's little hand. She only had a small clue of what to do. Dorothea told her she wasn't allowed to ever heal. Dorothea taught both of the boys how to do it. Brady was always walking the streets and healing people, he was truly a good angel. Lex sucked in a deep breath and pulled the blade across her skin. Nothing happened. She looked from the blade to Brady. "Is this a demon blade?"

Brady nodded but Lex could tell he was fading fast. She tried again. She dug the blade into her hand like Don had once taught her, without Dorothea knowing. It again left nothing but a red line from the pressure of her weight against the blade, but no blood or cuts. " I'm sorry Brady I can't do it, I don't know how."

Brady's eyes got so wide like it was the first time he every really saw her. He squeezed her hand and said in a faint, fading voice, "You have to run Lex.  Don't stop being who you are, no matter what they tell you. Don't trust ..." his voice left him and he fell unconscious, but the pulse in his hand was still there. He was still alive...barely.

" DJ!!!"

no answer

"Don John!!!"

Behind Lex there was a crashing sound, like a earthquake shattering buildings. It just happened to be the building that all the darks originated from. It was left in pieces as if a real earthquake only affected and crumbled that building. A boy stood in front of the building, shorter then Brady but with the same blond hair, but with blue eyes. He  stomped right up to Lex and said. " Don't call me Don John. I don't care if my father, the king of angels, calls me Don John, you and everyone else under his rule will call me DJ.. whoa what happened to Brady?"

" He got shot, help me get him out of here!" Lex was still crying but had enough clarity to stand and walk with DJ, who carried Brady like a coat over his shoulder.

" what did you do to the building?" Lex looked back at it. Now that Brady was unconscious, everyone in the room was slowly starting to go back to normal.

" Some red headed chick shot at me so I crashed the building from under her feet, she had to be a demon because after the building feel, she stood up and ran off." DJ said as they walked out of the mall. They made it all the way to the entrance before two more shadowy figures appeared out of the shadow of the palm trees. If Lex wasn't already crying, she would have gone crazy to see the two boys.

The boys were Brady and DJ, holding knives and pistols, aimed at the three of them.
