Robin woke up to the sound of her alarm. It was her first day back at her new school. Robin hasn't seen these people since the 5th grade. Robin turns her alarm off and gets up, she walks over to her mirror and recites the last words her mother told her.

" Today will bring new dreams, tomorrow you put them into actions." Robin said sadly, she had never been said when she said it, the sadness in her voice confused her. Robin's phone rang snapping her back into reality, she reluctantly picked it up and answered.

"Hey boo, You ready for your first day?" Jamie said excitedly. Jamie had been Robin's friend when she first moved in with her dad back in middle school. Robin met Jamie when she was in 8th grade, Jamie was in 6th. Kids used to pick on Jamie so Robin stood up for her, after that they became bestfriends, despite their age difference. Robin put on her happy voice.

"Hey! Yeah I'm so ready for my first day. I'm not even stressed." Robin lied, her mom died 2 weeks ago, her dad wasn't taking it very well, even though they had got divorced 2 years ago. Robin couldn't let her dad know she was hurting still, so she decided to put on a happy face and go back to school. Robin is starting senior year, while Jamie is starting Sophomore year.

"Don't lie to me Robin, I know you're still sad, but I'm here to help." Hearing someone say she was sad made Robin feel sad, so she changed the subject.

"What, I'm fine Jamie its your first day of Sophomore year, so many opportunities. Who could be sad on a day like that?" Robin spaced out for a moment, thinking back to her first day of Sophomore year, but Jamie yelling brought her back.

"Hello? Earth to Robin? Listen I'm gonna go finish getting ready. I'll see you at the bus stop okay?" Jamie said plainly.

"Oh yeah sure, I'll see you then." Robin hung up the phone and plopped down on her bed. Robin picked up her outfit she had picked out the day before.

Robin took a shower and then put on her clothes, she put her hair up in a high ponytail like always on headed downstairs. Robin rushed pass her dad and grabbed her bag that was next to her front door.

"See you later dad!" Robin said while rushing out the door. Robin took in her surroundings, noticing that her dads house was way bigger than the rest. Robin walked down the front steps and proceeded to the bus stop. There where people already there, including Jamie, she walked over to Jamie and stood next to her.
