"Mom, I'm taking Akamaru for a walk! I'll be back soon! Come on, boy." Akamaru let out a bark before we walked out the door and into the streets of Konoha. There were a lot of people out today, talking and laughing and enjoying their day. I see a few couples here and there, and it made me think: was there someone out there for me? Whoever it was, it was taking a long time for me to find her.

Suddenly, Akamaru stopped in his tracks and started sniffing the air around. I raised a curious eyebrow, asking, "What's wrong, boy?"

He ignored me and kept sniffing the air. Then, he barked before bounding off. Caught off guard, I yell, "Akamaru! Akamaru, come back!"

I chased after him. We bumped into passing pedestrians, who gave us an irritated look before walking on. I didn't care though. My dog was acting crazy; I had better things to worry about than aggravated villagers. Akamaru ran around a corner, and I heard a surprised yell. "Whoa!"

I followed and saw a girl trapped under Akamaru, who was busy giving her a wet, facial mask. I feared she was angry by the abrupt attack, but then I heard her laughing her lungs out. "Hah hah hah! Whoa, boy, whoa! That tickles, hah hah!"

"Akamaru, get off!" I demanded, and he complied. He stepped back to my side while I helped the girl up. She had short brown hair that went to her neck, and same colored eyes. Her skin was a little lighter than mine. She flashed me a grin, stating, "That's a big dog you got there. Coulda killed me."

I laughed nervously, scratching the back of my head. "Yeah, sorry about that. Normally, Akamaru doesn't do stunts like that."

"Aw, no worries. I'm sure that's just his way of saying he likes me. Ain't that right, boy?" She then scratching the back of Akamaru's ears, to which he showed his appreciation by licking her hand. She giggled again, and then looked at me. "What's your name? Mine is Kotsu Myashi."

"Inuzuka Kiba." I said, and she nodded before beginning to walk away. Akamaru and I just stood there, confused. Was that it? She then looked back and smirked. "What, you boys turned into statues all of a sudden? Come on!"

After mentally putting two and two together, I grinned and ran to catch up, Akamaru trailing behind. We spent the rest of day talking and laughing, watching Akamaru as he circled us a few, walked forward before back to either of our sides. While we were walking, I saw my team hanging out at our usual training spot. I grinned at Myashi, who gave me questioning look. Grabbing her hand, I said, "I wanna introduce you to my team."

"Cool." Myashi agreed, and we walked over. When my team saw me, they all gave Myashi a curious glance. Kurenai-sensei was the first one to speak. "Who's this, Kiba?"

I gestured to Myashi, who gave a wave and a smile. "This is my new friend, Myashi Kotsu. We were just walking around the village when we saw you guys."

"More like 'girlfriend'." Kurenai-sensei mused. I furrowed my eyebrows, wondering what she meant. That was when I felt a hand wrapped around mine, and I looked down. Our hands were intertwined.

My face instantly heated up, and I put my hands up. "Uh, th-this isn't what it looks like! I mean, we barely know each other! Come on! We can't just instantly be girlfriend and boyfriend!"

"Oh, so you're courting me? Or, am I not good enough for you?" Myashi asked, hands on her hips and an eyebrow raised. I started waving my arms around frantically. "No! I mean, yes! I mean, you're pretty! Very pretty, definitely good enough! I'm not courting you, though! I mean, we just met, and... well... I mean... Oh, just forget it! I give up."

I sighed as my arms flopped to my sides. Myashi burst out laughing. "Relax! I'm just joking. It's funny seeing you flustered, though."

I blinked repeatedly before joining her laugh. "Don't be giving me a heart attack!"
