You wrapped a strand of your hair around the hot curling iron, held it in place for half a minute before letting it fall by your face. There, the last bit of your hair was curled. You stared at your reflection in the mirror, making sure your makeup looked alright. You didn't apply much, just some concealer, mascara and lip gloss.

You didn't know why you were so nervous. Joe had admitted when he asked you on a date that he had been crushing on you for a while now. And you and him went way back; you two had been good friends since middle school when he was extremely socially awkward, and you had Hello Kitty glasses and rainbow colored braces. You two weren't the tightest of friends, but he was definitely in your top five.

You were wiping off some smudged mascara from under your left eye when your phone started to ring. The ringtone you had set specially for Joe was the bassline of 'Another One Bites The Dust' by Queen. He was a big Queen fan, and I often told him that he looked like their bassist, John Deacon. He always blushed whenever I said that.

"Good evening, Mr Mazzello," I greeted him through the phone with a little giggle.

"Good evening, Miss (Y/L/N). I happen to be outside your living facility at this current moment and I'd very much fancy if you came out sometime soon. Very soon," Joe's american accent caused your already pink cheeks to transition into a deep red.

Giggling, you replied with,"I'll be right out, kind sir." You grabbed your purse with your free hand and walked out of the front door to see Joe, holding a single white rose. His face lit up at the sight of you, and outstretched his arm to kindly offer you the rose.

"M'lady," He said, as your fingers wrapped itself around the stem of the flower. "Sorry, I couldn't find any red ones in anyone's front yard."

You let out a laugh before bringing the rose up to your nose to inhale the sweet scent. "Mmm," You hummed. "Thank you, Joe."

"You look breathtaking, Y/N," He softly spoke, feeling his eyes look you up and down.

You had on a tight black turtleneck which was tucked into a grey circle skirt. A pair of thigh high black boots completed the look, and they made you feel more confident.

You smiled softly at him. "You're looking quite dashing yourself."

He blushed, then took your hand in his. "Shall we?"

You nodded, also blushing at his actions. You could feel your hand starting to sweat in his hold. He literally made you weak in your knees.

Hand in hand, you two walked to the local cinema that was about a 10 minute walk from your house. You two didn't say much during the walk, but the silence was more comfortable than awkward. You often looked in his direction to admire him - he was so beautiful. A few times, he had caught you staring and smiled, which made your whole body tingle. You loved the way he made you feel.

Once you and Joe were seated in the movie theatre, he lifted the arm rest between you two and moved in closer to
you. You got all hot and bothered just by this action, and was expecting him to make some sort of move on you when he leaned in, but instead he whispered, "Y/N, What are we watching again?" in your ear.

You giggled. "The Fault in our Stars. Shh, it's starting."

As the movie progressed, you got more and more emotional. When Hazel read out the eulogy she had written for Gus, you just couldn't hold back the tears. Joe noticed the tears trickling down your face. He wiped away your tears with his thumb, and tenderly placed his fingers on your chin to turn your face towards him. You didn't once break eye contact with him as your faces grew closer and closer until your soft, glossed lips met his slightly chapped ones. Immediately, you felt fireworks fly inside you, the sparks booming as they fly in separate directions. You could feel your heart pounding in your chest, it nearly ached. This was the moment you had been waiting years for. You let out a hum as the kiss slowly deepened, moving your hand to his cheek. Eventually, after what felt like eternity, he pulled away, breathing heavily in the quiet cinema.

"Will you be my gi-"

"YES! Yes I will!" You interrupted loudly, causing the people around you to glare. But you didn't care. You cupped his face with both of your hands and connected your lips with his once again. From
then, you knew that Joe was the one for you.
