Through a sea of stars I wade,
Boundlessly without direction or purpose,
The light in my eyes begins to fade.
A void deep within me grows ever larger.
The ground trembles violently beneath me,
What lies below is perhaps the biggest mystery.
Each direction I turned my gaze,
I saw balls of fire blazing identically hot,
Colourless and repulsive was their blaze,
Blistering and scorching my skin golden red.
Then, towards the crowd I looked,
A star shining unlike any other,
Her colours iridescent and vibrant,
Her rays warm and soothing.
Her rays kindled a fire deep within me,
A fire I never knew existed so bright.
Burning not to cause anguish and despair,
And with radiance inferior only to her own glare.
I watched her revolve round again,
Immersed in her enigmatic beauty.
But moments I saw her flicker in pain,
Dark and light turned her shades,
But never once losing her beauty.
Closer I came to find out more,
About this star like none before,
But rarely a moment to talk came,
For she was veiled in fame.
Never was she left solitary,
None could do but awe at her majesty.
Swirling through the whirling mist,
She vanished behind the dense curtain,
Of pitch black fog and blight.
Through the dissipating mist,
She re-emerged from the plight,
But never the same again.
Duller became her colours,
Darker became her mood.
Searing became her rays,
Blinding became her light.
Never had I witnessed such pain,
And forever I hope to never witness it again.
She continued on her own journey,
Unyielding and resolute was she,
In the face of the darkest troubles.
Futile were my attempts to aid her,
Swatted away by her unwavering nature.
Never before had I so definite a purpose,
Never had I felt such an intense desire,
Never before had I suffered from such agony.
I fell in love with a star unlike any other,
Words could do little to describe her.
This rhythm in my heart I've never heard before,
This feeling within me I've never felt before.
What this feeling is I may never know,
But cherish it I shall for evermore.
Through a sea of stars I wade,
Bounded by newfound purpose,
The shadow in my eyes begins to fade.
A void deep within me fills with blazing fire.
The trembling floor beneath me gave way,
To an abyss filled with nothingness all around me,
A place of oblivion where forever I may stay.
The yawning abyss consumed me without a hint of remorse,
A gap so wide I could not have fathomed in my imagination.
I fall indefinitely to a destination I know not where,
My only companion being the cold unforgiving desolation.
My thoughts sway to the nameless shining star,
And to the fire that she kindled deep within my heart.
I yearn to see her blazing bright that gives me hope,
Hope is all I have in this place where there is none to part.
Dread fills my thoughts each passing day,
When I think of my transient life and inevitable end.
A time will come when I shall pass away,
And she will live on for an eternity after.
Across a sea of stars I have waded,
Fulfilled is my purpose,
The shadow in my eyes has faded.
A void deep within me is filled with fire.
Forever into the dark abyss of oblivion I may fall,
With nothingness to fill the air and with no wall.
Just a faint glow in the distance is all I can see,
My shining star as ever bright as can be.
Fade into oblivion though I may,
Her light will guide my way.
