it was 6am in Melbourne, two complete strangers having no clue that they both woke up at the exact same second, from the exact same dream.
zelda quickly sat up, her messy bed hair falling in long waves down her back. she was pretty shook up from her dream, wondering why in the world she was dreaming of a boy almost four years older than she was.
ashton did the same thing, his messy blonde curls covering his eyes. wondering who the hell that young girl was, and asking himself why he was craving to feel her skin on his so badly.
both got up, remembering that today was the first day back at school. ashton was ecstatic to go back, remembering that he was in year 12, his last year.but zelda dreaded going to school, only being in year nine, just starting high school.
zelda sleepily stood up, sliding on her penguin slippers and making her way over to her bathroom. after spending ten minutes on perfecting her brown waves, she decided to brush her teeth and get dressed.
her outfit was always similar to the one she wore the day before, a black wavy skirt, white button up top, and a navy blue cardigan. unlike her outfit, her shoes were always different. ranging from converse, to even timberland hiking boots.
'7:33am' she read the clock, grabbing her bag and leaving the empty house, starting the five minute walk to school.~
"zelda!" briana yelled, running over to the shy girl."hi briana." zelda said, opening her locker.
"i called you five times last night, i got worried." briana frowned, watching as the light haired girl sighed, pulling a binder out of her locker.
"my parents forgot to pay the phone bill again," zelda stated, making briana's heart ache.
"when was the last time you actually saw them zel?" she asked, mad and upset that zelda's parents didn't care about their beautiful daughter.
"er, i think it was saturday night?" zelda mumbled, watching as briana stiffened.
"that was almost three whole days ago!" briana shouted, her hands going up into the air. "they're your parents, they can't do that. it's illegal to leave a 14 year old girl all alone for two whole days." she continued.
"it's okay bri, they're just busy with work, s'all." zelda shrugged, knowing all to well that they were not busy with work.
"if you ever need a place to stay just come over to mine. you know where i live and my mother loves you." briana told her, getting cut off by the bell, not giving zelda a chance to reply.
"i'll see you at lunch." zelda shut her locker, making her way to class.
health class is what her schedule read, almost making her groan involuntarily. her boots squeaked against the polished floor, as her small body was pushed around by all the people taller than her.
once she finally got to health, she made sure to take a seat all the way in the back, already nervous as she looked around the room. due to the amount of students in her grade, some freshmen has to share classes with seniors, and zelda happened to be one of them.
all the people around her were so much older, resulting in her being a nervous wreck. she hid her face behind her hair, not wanting to attract any unneeded attention.
her heart sped up as she heard the chair next to her squeak, and then creak, meaning that someone had sat down next to her.
"fresh meat, eh?" she heard the boy next to her snigger, making her turn her head to get a good look at him.
as she turned her heart skipped a beat, and her eyes widened. ashton's eyes also widened, remembering her as the mystery girl in his dream. she didn't really know how to reply to him, so he just spoke again.
"what're you doing sitting in the back?" he asked, not wanting to tease her any longer, but instead he had a sudden urge to get to know her.
"uh, i just like it here better." zelda stuttered, looking into his eyes. he simply nodded, leaning back in his seat.
"i'll sit with you, just so no douche bags bother you." ashton smiled at her, making her blush and smile slightly back. "so what's your name?"
"my names zelda." she told him.
"like the princess. you kinda look like her, ya' know." ashton explained. "you both have the nice long hair, except yours is prettier, and your cute little freckles- wait i don't think she has those." he was making zelda laugh, something she didn't really do often. "hey, i haven't played that game since i was like 13. stop bullying me." he whined.
"what's your name?" she asked, still giggling a bit. her giggle was making ashton happy, and he couldn't wipe the grin off his face.
"i'm ashton, it's sucks because i wasn't named after any princesses." he pouted, causing her to laugh at him.
zelda liked him, and ashton really liked her.
