Arden's POV

Monday, January 5th 2014

"Shit" I mumbled, slipping on my Vans. This was my first time flying and I was gonna miss it, all because I can't stop hitting snooze in the morning. I took a five second break to check the time, 6:00am. My flight was at 6:45am and there was no way I was gonna make it with this LA traffic. Ever since I moved here after high school the constant noises of cars had been worked into my brain like it wasn't ever different before. Well it was, I lived in Kentucky. Yes, it was country. No, I'm not.

As I zipped up my suitcase, I realized how hungry I was. "Not now!" I thought to myself, I'll just eat at the airport. I jumped in my car and started to drive, I went to the Bluetooth so I could listen to my favorites to calm me down. Well maybe that would've worked if I had my phone, I forgot my phone. "Are you shitting me right now?" I yelled in anger and did a U-Turn. I clicked on the time button. 6:20am. As I reached my house I saw my roommate pull in, she probably just got off work (3rd shift sucks)

"Hope!"

I screamed, trying to get her attention. She turned around tiredly with a McDonalds bag in her hand. "What?"

She sounded aggravated, but you know what so am I.

"Could you grab my phone off the counter and run it to me?" Hurry!"

As Hope approached the car with my beloved phone, I realized how much I was gonna miss her. A month is a little too long without one of your best friends.

"Stay safe."

She said tiredly, and attempted a window hug, but failed.

"Alright" I laughed, "I will."

"Make sure to bring me back something!" She exclaimed and returned inside, probably to sleep off a nights work.

I ran into the airport, fumbling with my phone in my pocket. I clicked the lock button, 6:40am. There was no way I was gonna make it. In my attempt to not trip over my untied shoelaces, I failed. Hitting the ground face-first. Damn. As I tried to compose myself, I felt a strong hand around my arm. I looked up to see who was grabbing me, whilst saying

"What the hell?" He looked at me in the eyes and I started to blink fastly,

"Oh I'm sorry, I didn't realize you were trying to help." I apologized.

"No, I'm sorry for startling you, I mean it kinda was my fault."

The boy said. I started to put two and two together,

"Wait, did you trip me?" I said angrily

"No, no, not on purpose!" He said.

In all my anger I didn't realize until just now that he had an Australian accent.

"Oh well, I'm sorry for flipping out on you. It's been a rough morning." I apologized again.

"Yeah, tell me about it." He rolled his eyes, "I was just trying to get home and my flight gets cancelled."

"I'm sorry." I apologize a lot. "What flight were you on?" I asked making conversation at the least most conservable time.

"002"

I looked at my ticket, only to be startled.
