It was a normal day. A worker at the local corner store just ended his day looking at the little boy in the corner reading his book, and well the day seemed to be a normal day. What was unknown at this time was that this store worker was nothing but normal. It was beautiful outside sunny and eighty degrees the sidewalks were packed with kids and their parents out getting ice cream and going for a nice walk.
. In the background you can hear the sounds of sirens blaring and police flooding the streets advising people to get inside and all of a sudden, nothing. Everyone took off running inside and the streets that used to be surrounded by people out on the town they were empty. The only sound that could be hurd was the sound of the sirens all over the city. You see a car traveling so fast you could blink and miss it but if you looked just closely enough it was that corner store employee named Gary.
That same employee that you bought your drink from or paid your gas to has just robbed the bank, And is now on the run from all the police in the area. No one knows why Gary had done this, but his car runs down third street through the abandoned city. Police cars and news vans fly down the street in pursuit. Can you believe how fast a normal calm day can turn into complete pandemonium? When the pursuit passes the people return to the streets you can smell the burnt rubber and plastic from of the vehicles that had just passed by.
The police officers began to set up for a pit on Garys vehicle to bring this thing to an end. Gary takes one look at the back seat with a tear in his eye as The officer moves into position going 120 miles per hour he strikes the left fender of the vehicle causing Gary's vehicle to spin to the left and start rolling coming to a stop in the corner store. There he lays as the officers move up guns draw to the subject to put the handcuffs on him. While being dragged out of the store from the burning vehicle he realised what he has done looking back to see a kid sitting by the police cars. Gary then looked at the officers and said one message that will ring in this town's ears for as long as they will remember.
“When your kid has cancer and you can't afford his bills what would you do?”
That was the day that Gary was arrested for felony eluding and evading. Shortly after the town came together and started a page raising enough money to pay for garys sons treatment. But still to this day some will call him a hero some will call him a criminal, but me? Lets just call him my dad.
